WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
Fors Marsh is seeking a data management professional who enjoys wrangling data using R. The ideal candidate is someone who can both work independently and as part of a team, demonstrates exceptional attention to detail, and can apply strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills to identify root causes. This individual will support many client projects and internal company initiatives within Fors Marsh, as a part of our Data Craft Center. The Data Craft Center provides expertise in data management, survey operations, survey programming, research methods, and data analysis. Example tasks conducted by staff within the Data Craft Center include data processing and cleaning, power analysis, survey methodology review of study design and question, data visualization, quality control, and automation. Our focus is to ensure that data inform all Fors Marsh activities and that we continuously develop our analytic capabilities.
Responsibilities include:
- Writes syntax in R to process survey data, given a written questionnaire, variable names, and descriptive labels and systematically runs test survey data through created syntax to identify discrepancies between instrument specifications and programed surveys.
- Cleans and recodes sample frames on projects.
- Troubleshoots any issues or errors that occur in the syntax and implements solutions identified by self or other team members.
- Creates, maintains, and uses documentation of data management processes.
- Performs basic statistical operations and data manipulation/transformation.
- Explains code and technical concepts in depth to team members within own division.
- Reviews the code and output of other team members for any potential coding or output errors on projects.
Qualifications:
- 1 to 2 years of experience using R, RStudio, and its various packages (including the tidyverse) for data management.
- 1-2 years of experience cleaning and wrangling data Experience with survey data or large complex datasets a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in statistics, social sciences, or related disciplines.
- Applicants will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility criteria for access to sensitive information.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and consent to a full background check due to our federal contract requirements.
- Experience with GitHub or databases is a plus.

Salary:$55,000-$75,000
