Job DescriptionThe New Data Lifecycle Enablement Graduate is going to be responsible for supporting Visa’s Data Lifecycle Management capability by performing data access request compliance assessments, with the long-term expectation that this role will shift to support broader Data Lifecycle capabilities across the business. This individual must be able to work across functions, business units, regions and in deep collaboration with Global Data Office staff to identify best practices and areas of opportunity. Experience with data engineering and governance, Technology platforms (e.g. data catalog), and tooling with proven ability to build new capabilities, drive organizational impact and act as a change agent critical to success.
This role will be responsible for championing the effort in driving and maturing robust data and AI governance controls across the enterprise. This includes performing data access management compliance assessments, and driving continuous improvement in data lifecycle management throughout the company. This role will partner closely with Visa data stewards as well as stakeholders in risk, privacy, cybersecurity, technology and other functions.
Primary responsibilities
- Perform reviews of data access requests to assess compliance with internal policies on data use as the primary initial workflow, responsibilities will shift over time to encompass the additional responsibilities listed below.
- Contribute to the design, build and maintenance of best-in-class platforms, tools and capabilities leveraging AI/ML to support data owners, data stewards and users to grow demand for intelligent and insightful data lifecycle management.
- Develop solutions for managing Data Lifecycle and lineage of data assets through analyzing, developing, and deploying an enterprise data catalog that addresses data lineage in support of privacy, security, regulatory, legal objectives in alignment with Visa’s policies and standards.
- Conduct business process analysis, needs, assessments, and design sessions/user story workshops to align solutions with business needs.
- Support the rollout and maintenance of Master Data Management capabilities.
- Perform analysis and enable reporting on key Data Lifecycle metrics to enable insight-driven decision-making for strategic initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Accounting, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, advanced degree preferred.
- Familiarity with data access management and an interest in related regulatory frameworks.
- Experience with designing and developing taxonomies, data classifications, data catalogue controls (flagging, correction, and workflow) is nice to have.
- Knowledge of data warehousing, business intelligence, data governance, data architecture, data quality management, data security and privacy, and Master Data Management is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively within a large, matrixed organization.
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to develop and sustain relationships across levels and role types, influences and collaborates with all levels, functions and geographies.
- Experience in identifying, assessing, treating, and monitoring data-related risks.
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site).
