Who we are looking for

The team is responsible for developing and launching new data products derived from State Street and third-party data to create value for both the company and its customers. This includes conducting research, generating ideas for new products, defining requirements and roadmaps, collaborating with internal teams to bring products to market, tracking performance against KPIs (Key Performance Indicators), and iterating on solutions.
We are seeking a Product Development Analyst, Assistant Vice President to join our team to drive the development roadmap forward to successfully launch new data products. This role requires a combination of market research, technical collaboration, product design, and stakeholder engagement to build and deliver data-driven solutions.

Why this role is important to us

You will be joining the Institutional Services function that allows us to deliver a comprehensive, holistic approach to each client relationship — for asset managers and asset owners, insurance companies, and official institutions globally. It means our client-facing functions work together to bring the very best solutions and services the firm has to offer — across all of our locations, products, and capabilities.

Join us if making your mark on the long-lasting client relationships we build is a challenge you are up for.

What you will be responsible for

  • Conduct market research to identify trends, client needs, and opportunities for new data products. Assist in developing product requirements, user stories, and specifications for new data products.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and technology teams to design, prototype, and build data products and analytics tools, working with users to gather feedback and iterate on solutions.
  • Help integrate and manage market and vendor data, ensuring data quality and reliability.
  • Implement research data products, such as investor behavior and risk indicators, in partnership with the Global Markets Research team.
  • Maintain existing data products and support client deliverables.
  • Maintain documentation of product features, data models, and user guidelines.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitive products, and emerging technologies related to data intelligence.

What we value

These skills will help you succeed in this role

  • Technical Proficiency: Strong computer programming skill is essential, preferably with experience in Python and PL/SQL.
  • Data Handling & Analytics: Hands on experience in processing, manipulating and analyzing large datasets for quantitative research, product development or client services.
  • Problem-Solving & Critical Thinking: Strong analytical skills and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Project Management & Adaptability: Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize work effectively, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Communication & Collaboration: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings and collaborate across teams, including data engineers, researchers, and business stakeholders.
  • Innovation and Initiative: Self-motivated, fast learner who is proactive in identifying opportunities and drive solutions forward.

Education & Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, data science, business, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in quantitative research, product development, data analytics, or investment-related roles. Experience working with financial market data, including public and private market datasets.

The following summarizes recurring compensation and benefits themes identified from responses generated by popular LLMs to common candidate questions about State Street and has not been reviewed or approved by State Street.

These offerings are depicted as strengthening the overall benefits proposition even when pay satisfaction is tepid.
