Maintains Master Patient Index data integrity
- Monitors and reviews MPI duplicate reports to ensure timely processing and correction
- Responds to reports of duplicate or overlay MPI issues and ensures timely processing and correction
Maintains database of duplicate and overlay corrections for reporting purposes
In collaboration with others, monitors and audits EHR Documentation
- Reviews records as scheduled or on an ad hoc basis to establish completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of electronic health record documentation
- Maintains accurate database of audit findings
- Selects appropriate or defined sample size to support audit validity
In collaboration with others, performs audit of metadata to detect potential privacy breeches related to EHR access
- As assigned, monitors access logs to determine potential improper or irregular viewing, printing, or copying of patient health information
- Reports irregular findings to Compliance Officer in a timely manner
Maintains database related to Privacy audit function
Performs quality check of records requested by outside auditors such as RAC, MAC or Commercial Insurers
- Using established checklist, assesses documentation for completeness and ensures that any missing documentation is sought in a time sensitive manner, prior to release of the record
- Uses defined system database to record this action
- Immediately reports quality issues to direct Supervisor and other internal stakeholders
Assists with corrections, addendums and amendments in the EHR as defined by MHS policy and procedure
Assists with the processing of transcribed reports
- Corrects demographic and account data errors on transcribed reports
- Monitors transcription to ensure turn-around time and quality metrics are being met
Basic Qualifications
Education and Training: High school diploma or GED. 1-2 years college in related field
Certification and Licensure: RHIT or other related credential, preferred
Skills: Data analysis, research skills for error correction
Proficiency with Microsoft office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Experience: Experience working with electronic medical records
