Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data
& Integration Developer to design, develop, and maintain secure,
scalable data integration flows across our enterprise ecosystem. The ideal
candidate must have a robust background in data engineering combined with at
least 3–5 years of dedicated experience integrating SAP systems (such as
SAP S/4HANA or ECC) with various non-SAP cloud platforms, third-party SaaS
applications, and on-premises databases.
You will play a pivotal role in bridging siloed data
environments, ensuring real-time business operations run smoothly, and
maintaining a high standard of data quality and governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Integration
Development: Design, build, and deploy end-to-end integration
solutions connecting SAP and non-SAP environments using modern enterprise
integration patterns.
- SAP
Integration Pipeline: Configure and develop integration flows (iFlows)
using tools like SAP Integration Suite / Cloud Integration (CPI),
SAP API Management, or SAP PI/PO.
- Data
Pipelines & ETL: Develop and optimize scalable data pipelines and
ETL processes to sync, replicate, and transform complex business data.
- API
Management: Design, build, and secure RESTful APIs, OData services,
and SOAP endpoints. Enforce API versioning, proper authentication (OAuth2,
certificates), and throttling policies.
- Message
Formats & Mapping: Implement message mappings, schema definitions,
and data transformations utilizing XML, JSON, and EDI protocols (e.g.,
X12, EDIFACT).
- Clean
Core & Best Practices: Follow "Clean Core" architectural
principles, consuming standard SAP APIs and business events to ensure
upgrade-stable, side-by-side extensibility.
- Monitoring
& Support: Monitor active integration pipelines, conduct
root-cause analysis on performance bottlenecks or interface failures, and
apply optimization patches.
- Collaboration: Partner with Enterprise Architects, SAP Functional leads, and business
stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust technical
specifications.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in data engineering, data
pipeline development, or application integration.
- Mandatory
SAP Expertise: 3+ years of direct, hands-on experience building
integrations within the SAP ecosystem using SAP CPI / Integration Suite.
- Technical
Protocols: Deep understanding of OData services, REST/SOAP APIs,
IDocs, RFCs, and event-driven architecture (e.g., SAP Event Mesh or
Kafka).
- Data
Formats: Exceptional proficiency working with XML, JSON, and flat-file
data processing. Experience with standard EDI financial/logistics
transactions is highly preferred.
- Scripting: Solid foundational scripting or coding experience (e.g., Groovy scripting
for CPI mappings, JavaScript, SQL, or Python).
- Security
Standards: Good grasp of integration security, including managing
digital certificates, SSH keys, encryption/decryption, and OAuth tokens.
- Problem
Solving: Proven ability to troubleshoot intricate integration defects
and network connectivity problems across hybrid cloud/on-prem
environments.
Preferred/Nice-to-Have Skills
- Hands-on
exposure to ABAP development or Core Data Services (CDS) views.
- Experience
with major cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) data pipelines (e.g.,
Azure Data Factory).
- Familiarity
with legacy migration (e.g., moving interfaces from SAP PI/PO to SAP
BTP/CPI).
Skills Required
- Minimum of 5 years professional experience in data engineering, data pipeline development, or application integration.
- 3+ years hands-on experience building integrations within the SAP ecosystem using SAP CPI / Integration Suite.
- Experience integrating SAP S/4HANA or ECC with non-SAP cloud platforms, SaaS applications, and on-prem databases.
- Deep understanding of OData services, REST and SOAP APIs, IDocs, and RFCs.
- Experience with event-driven architectures (e.g., SAP Event Mesh or Kafka).
- Proficiency working with XML, JSON, flat-file processing; EDI (X12/EDIFACT) highly preferred.
- Scripting/coding experience (examples: Groovy for CPI mappings, JavaScript, SQL, or Python).
- Integration security knowledge including OAuth2, managing digital certificates, SSH keys, and encryption/decryption.
- Proven troubleshooting skills across hybrid cloud/on-prem integration, network connectivity and interface failures.
- Experience with SAP API Management, SAP PI/PO, or migrating interfaces from PI/PO to CPI (preferred).
- Hands-on ABAP development or Core Data Services (CDS) exposure (preferred).
- Familiarity with major cloud platforms and data pipeline tools (AWS, Azure, GCP, e.g., Azure Data Factory) (preferred).
- Relevant certifications in SAP Integration Suite or cloud/integration architecture (preferred).
