ECS is seeking a Data Insights Analyst to work in our Arlington, VA office.

ECS is seeking talented professionals to join our successful and growing team supporting the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency’s (CISA) Joint Cyber Defense Collaborative (JCDC). JCDC is CISA’s flagship initiative for uniting regional government, industry, and international partners to proactively defend against cyber threats. Our ECS team is at the center of providing support to JCDC’s critical mission as they continue to plan, share, and respond to cyber threats in real time to support the greater cyber community.

The Data Insights Analyst will support the JCDC Partnerships Office by producing actionable solutions to active real-world cyber threats, ensuring that the right people are receiving the right information at the right time. This position involves developing a deep understanding of the client’s mission and priorities, anticipating client needs, and translating them into actionable insights by asking the right questions, analyzing and cleaning the data, and designing clear, visually compelling stories that support decision-making.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Partner with client stakeholders to identify and document objectives, opportunities for improvement, and decision-making needs to optimize client performance and efficiency.
  • Bridge communication gaps within diverse communities by facilitating information to help unify cyber defense capabilities from government, industry and international organizations.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and pain points and translate those into meaningful recommendations and visual presentations.
  • Analyze and interpret existing datasets and dashboards to identify trends, patterns, and insights that can inform strategic decisions and drive mission outcomes.
  • Help transform partner information and outreach data into clear narratives that highlight the real impact of the office and guide client focus for executive briefings and reports.
  • Synthesize information from multiple sources into clear insights and visual use cases using tools such as MS lists, Power BI, and Excel to inform project decision-points.
  • Support the maturation of data practices by helping to define and implement data governance standards and reporting procedures.
  • Work with client stakeholders to prioritize database/dashboard elements in terms of mission benefit and provide recommendations to support the effective collection, analysis, and reporting of partner information.
  • Respond to ad hoc client needs arising from a dynamic, continually changing environment, by adjusting strategy, reprioritizing work as needed, and proactively documenting and communicating the resulting impacts.
Preferred Qualifications
  • US citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain DHS Suitability (EOD)
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in cybersecurity, computer science, information systems management, mathematics, engineering, or other relevant disciplines.
  • 5+ years of front-line consulting experience with a proven track record of delivering data analytics work products that address questions and decisions of central importance to clients’ missions.
  • Ability to identify strategic improvements independently and brief peers or leadership accordingly.
  • Experience generating data products and reports that organize data analysis in a consumable format for a broad range of stakeholders, including interactive data visualizations and infographics.
  • Expert proficiency in using tools such as Power BI, SharePoint, MS Lists, Excel, Slack, and CRsoftware to organize and present pertinent information in intuitive, useful formats.
  • Keen understanding of the value of data quality and its importance to effective data analytics.
  • Ability to articulate essential quality aspects of available data to clients and limitations of what can be learned from them.
  • Ability to take initiative as a self-starter, ask clarifying questions, and take directions.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
  • Familiarity with the operations and mission of DHS CISA, JCDC, or other federal cybersecurity organizations.
