The Data Governance Engineer is responsible for enabling and governing the adoption of the data governance capabilities within the Azure Purview, Informatica CDGC and CDQ and beyond. In collaboration with the Platform Engineer Team, Advance Analytics Team, Business Stakeholders within Group Functions and globally, the incumbent must have a passion for how data can be trusted and accessed easily so it can be leveraged as a strategic asset for the consumers and producers.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Assist the Data Governance AVP to achieve outcomes defined in the Book of Work and KPIs/OKRs assigned for our segment
  • Support the technical deployment and enablement of the Azure Purview, Informatica CDGC and CDQ and work with vendor to prioritize features on the roadmap
  • Support the Data Quality implementation including but not limited to data profiling, write data quality rules, tables mapping based on the critical data elements defined, data quality score and monitoring, DQ production deployment
  • Contribute and provide practical guidance around data quality, metadata management, data access and security
  • Ensure all data management processes conform to standard operating procedures and aligns with a modern data architecture & enterprise technology standards and policies including the Global EDL standards
  • Design, upgrade and implement innovative data workflows, automation, tools, and API integrations
  • Work with DG AVP and global counterparts to promote a data driven culture through data literacy programs and best practices
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement through evaluation and Proof of Concept of new data technologies and capabilities that are value-driven to the organization

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years professional experience in big data management including a university degree in Engineering, IT, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or equivalent program
  • Knowledgeable in data processing languages such as SQL, Python, Go, Java, or Scala.
  • Expert knowledge of data governance concepts, not limited to metadata, data quality, lineage, data protection and organizational accountability
  • Expertise in data technologies and the use of data to support software development, advanced analytics, and reporting
  • Extensive experience implementing data storage solutions, managing, and developing data processing, and optimizing data solutions (Azure)
  • Expertise in integrating, transforming, and consolidating data from structured and unstructured data systems suitable for analytics solutions
  • Understanding of parallel processing and data architecture patterns
  • Experience in building secure data processing pipelines using Azure data services. Knowledge of basic TCP/IP protocols, REST and RPC protocols
  • Familiar in developing code in IDE’s like VSCode, PyCharm etc. with knowledge of basic code versioning in GIT
  • Ability to work with minimal or no supervision; ability and initiative to organize various functions necessary to accomplish department activities or goals and be a strong team player

  • Azure Storage Explorer/Data Studio, Synapse /Azure Data Factory/Databricks, Azure Data Lake Gen 2
