Job Description

As the Record to Report Global Process Owner Master Data Analyst, you will play a critical role in supporting the creation, maintenance, and governance of core business data across Thermo Fisher Scientific’s enterprise systems. You will contribute to global data quality initiatives, system enhancements, and operational excellence programs to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and completeness of master data across all systems. In this role, you will partner with cross-functional teams within Global Business Services (GBS), IT and Digital Enablement teams to drive standardized, compliant, and efficient processes that support Thermo Fisher Scientific’s business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Master Data Management

  • Review, cleanse, and standardize master data sets (e.g. material, customer, vendor and other ERP/PLM data).
  • Identify and correct incomplete, duplicate, inconsistent, obsolete, or non-compliant records.
  • Validate data accuracy against source documentation, business rules, and global data governance standards.
  • Perform data quality checks and ensure alignment across all ERP’s and other reporting platforms
  • Ensure adherence to Thermo Fisher’s global data governance policies, naming conventions, classification standards, and regulatory requirements.

Project Support

  • Participate in data remediation and master data harmonization projects.
  • Assist with testing activities such as UAT and regression testing for master data changes.
  • Provide timely status updates, progress reporting, and documentation of completed work.

Compliance & Controls

  • Help establish and maintain a strong accounting control environment within GBS Shared Services Operations.
  • Actively participate in the Efficiency Governance Program, attending weekly workstream meetings with Operations, PPI (Practical Process Improvement), Automation, and IT teams.

Training & Development

  • Collaborate with Operations teams to ensure personnel are well-trained on policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Support the development and maintenance of process documentation, data dictionaries, and governance rules.

Continuous Improvement

  • Assess and articulate business requirements, analyze design options, and identify opportunities for process simplification and standardization.
  • Identify and address inefficiencies or gaps that impact operational effectiveness.
  • Support initiatives that improve process performance, system usage, and data quality within R2R.
  • Contribute to refining and optimizing R2R workflows through innovation and structured improvement methodologies.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Engage key collaborators and stakeholders to meet business needs efficiently while staying aligned with enterprise goals.
  • Foster strong working relationships across Finance, Operations, GBS, IT, and Data Governance teams.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of dynamic experience in finance or accounting, with 1-3 years in a Shared Services structure.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • High attention to detail and strong commitment to data accuracy and quality.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
  • Ability to balance big-picture understanding with detailed knowledge of upstream and downstream financial impacts.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn complex processes and enterprise systems.
  • Proactive mindset with a continuous improvement orientation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to drive alignment and maintain engagement across diverse groups.
  • Location & Travel Requirements:
  • This position does not require relocation; however, travel may be required ~10%
