The Role

This is a remote position.

Superlanet is seeking a Data Engineering Manager for our healthcare client in Texas. This is a remote, direct hire opportunity with periodic travel; Texas-based candidates are highly preferred.

The Data Engineering Manager will play a key role in designing, building, and optimizing modern data platforms that enable scalable, secure, and high-value analytics across the healthcare enterprise. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on engineering and architecture within the Microsoft Fabric and Azure ecosystem, including OneLake, Delta Lake, and Synapse.

Reporting to the Director of Data Systems and Analytics, this individual will serve as a technical lead and subject matter expert, guiding small teams or project pods while remaining deeply involved in solution design, development, and delivery of production-grade data pipelines and models supporting clinical, operational, and financial analytics.


Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field
  • 5–10 years of hands-on data engineering or data platform development experience
  • 1–2 years of technical leadership or team lead experience, with a track record of delivering complex data initiatives and mentoring engineers
  • Strong expertise in Azure and/or Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Synapse, Databricks)
  • Experience building Spark-based ETL/ELT pipelines (PySpark or Scala)
  • Proficiency with open table formats (Delta Lake, Apache Iceberg) and medallion architecture
  • Strong knowledge of Azure DevOps, ADLS Gen2, and cloud-native data architecture
  • Experience implementing CI/CD, observability, and performance optimization for data pipelines
  • Advanced SQL and data modeling experience (dimensional/star schema)
  • Experience working with healthcare data (EHR, HL7/FHIR, claims)

Preferred

  • Familiarity with data governance tools such as Microsoft Purview or Unity Catalog
  • Experience with Kafka or Event Hubs for real-time data ingestion
  • Exposure to Power BI or similar analytics/reporting tools
  • Relevant certifications (Azure Data Engineer Associate, Fabric Analytics Engineer, or equivalent)


Benefits
Compensation is based on the candidate’s qualifications and aligned with the client’s established pay scale for this role:

$150,000 - $195,000
