About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Data Engineering Manager to lead and grow our Singapore-based data team. This role will focus on designing scalable data solutions, optimizing data processing systems, and ensuring data quality. As a team leader, you will collaborate closely with data analysts, the algorithms team, and architects to enhance data processing frameworks, support our global data initiatives, and elevate our product offerings.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, lead, and mentor the data engineering team, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Drive technical decision-making, selecting optimal data solutions and architectures.
- Maintain and upgrade current data processing systems, ensuring efficient performance and adaptability to new data requirements.
- Work with data analysts to maintain and enhance existing data production systems, implement new data features, and support data-driven decision-making.
- Collaborate with the algorithms team to leverage algorithmic capabilities to increase data production efficiency.
- Design strategies to improve data quality and implement solutions to ensure accuracy and reliability in data outputs.
- Enhance data processing frameworks, optimize data pipeline performance, and increase data handling capabilities.
- Partner with data architects to execute system upgrades and architecture enhancements.
- Coordinate with the engineering team in China to develop and deliver global data products.
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience managing data engineering teams, with strong leadership skills.
- 5+ years of experience in big data processing and engineering.
- Expertise in building data warehouses and data lakes.
- Proficiency in Java and Python; familiarity with Shell or other ETL frameworks is a plus.
- Solid understanding of database principles, with extensive experience in data quality management and data processing optimization.
- Knowledge of major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- Experience in web scraping is a plus.
- Experience in large model applications is preferred, as is an educational background in algorithms.
- Strong sense of responsibility, proactive work attitude, and effective communication skills.
- Team player with excellent communication skills; international work experience is highly preferred.
