What You Will Be DoingAs a Data Engineering Intern, you will contribute across the full spectrum of data initiatives, engineering, analytics, classical data science, and generative AI. You will work closely with experienced engineers and data scientists to build scalable, reliable data systems and derive insights that help shape business and product decisions
What You Will Bring to ChargePointData Engineering:
- Assist in building and optimizing data pipelines using tools like PySpark, Apache Spark, and dbt.
- Help manage data ingestion, transformation, and storage across systems (e.g., Snowflake, S3).
- Support in maintaining data quality and observability across the data lifecycle.
Classical Data Science:
- Explore datasets, perform feature engineering, and build machine learning models using Python, Scikit-learn, Pandas, etc.
- Conduct statistical analyses and help generate insights to support product and operations teams.
Generative AI (GenAI):
- Experiment with LLMs (e.g., Gemini, GPT, LLaMA, Claude) for use cases like summarization, semantic search, and chatbot development.
- Assist in prompt engineering, fine-tuning small models, or evaluating model outputs using libraries such as LangChain, HuggingFace, or OpenAI APIs.
Tooling & Infrastructure:
- Gain hands-on exposure to AWS services like Lambda, Glue, Redshift, and S3.
- Use Terraform or similar tools to support CI/CD for data infrastructure.
Visualization & Reporting:
- Build dashboards and visualizations using PowerBI or Tableau.
- Communicate insights through clear and compelling data storytelling.
Requirements:
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related field.
- Strong Python programming skills.
- Solid understanding of data structures, SQL, and basic data modeling.
- Exposure to machine learning concepts and algorithms.
- Curiosity in emerging GenAI technologies and tools.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to learn quickly.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
