Data Engineering Intern
Job Description:
This is an exciting opportunity to discover and create new value for Allison Transmission within the Data Analytics team. During this internship, the candidate will combine internal and external data sources, enabling data analysts to develop business-relevant insights. The candidate will be able to orchestrate data pipelines, create new schemas, and propose unique ways to efficiently combine multiple data sources, supporting data-driven decision-making for internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities

Leverages existing data lake to fulfill all data-related requests, perform necessary data housekeeping, data cleansing, normalization, and implementation of required data model changes.

Hydrate internal analytical dashboards with Azure Data Factory or Delta Live Table streaming. Troubleshoot problems, identify possible solutions, and resolve them accordingly.

Deploy and orchestrate data pipelines in Azure Databricks.

Efficiently manipulate large amounts of data in Python, PySpark, and SQL.

Retaining proper documentation, version control, and change management practices.
-
Perform automated deployment and testing for data consistency and version control.

Understand the challenges of integration with external services and API protocols.
-
Ease to work with ambiguity and vaguely defined requirements.

Efficiently collaborate with data engineers, scientists, architects, and analysts.
