We are looking for a Data Engineer to join the Infrastructure Consumption Platform (ICP) team and play a key role in delivering scalable, high-quality data solutions across our engineering landscape.
In this role, you will focus on building and optimising data pipelines, engineering reliable datasets, and enabling data-driven decision-making across infrastructure and operational domains. Working closely with the Infrastructure Data Manager and multi-functional teams, you will help shape how data is engineered, governed, and consumed to support critical initiatives, including infrastructure transformation, lifecycle management, and AI-driven analytics.
What You’ll Do
- Engineer data products - develop reusable data models, curated datasets, and reporting layers for analytics and downstream consumption.
- Develop reliable data platforms - implement automation, monitoring, and validation to ensure data integrity and performance.
- Collaborate across engineering and operations - translate business and technical requirements into scalable data solutions.
- Champion data governance - apply guidelines in modelling, lineage, documentation, and quality standards.
- Enable strategic outcomes - support transformation, lifecycle management, and cyber risk initiatives with engineered datasets.
- Drive AI-ready data foundations - build structured, feature-ready datasets for AI/ML use cases.
- Drive AI adoption - enable predictive analytics, anomaly detection, and intelligent automation use cases.
- Support agile delivery - chip in to sprint planning and iterative delivery.

- Strong SQL skills for transformation and optimisation.
- Experience building ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Proficiency in Python or scripting for automation.

- Exposure to AI/ML data preparation is a plus.

The Infrastructure Platform Engineering (IPE) organisation is accountable for the engineering, automation, and operational reliability of Group Engineering’s core infrastructure services including on‑premises data centres, compute platforms, storage, private cloud, virtualisation, databases, and middleware technologies. We maintain authoritative infrastructure datasets, lifecycle intelligence, and analytics used to support planning, refresh cycles, cyber risk management, and large-scale transformation programs.
