We are seeking a skilled and experienced Data Engineer to play a crucial role in using data technologies such as Microsoft SQL Server Technology, Python, PowerBI to build robust data infrastructure and facilitate advanced analytics within our organization.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in leveraging data technologies to enhance our data analytics and reporting capabilities. The team is currently rebuilding our data landscape, and this is a real opportunity to drive meaningful change across the business.

Job Summary:

As a Data Engineer, you will be at the forefront of managing, processing, and optimizing data to support the organization's analytical needs. Leveraging your expertise in Microsoft SQL Server Technology, Python, PowerBI you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide a solid data foundation for advanced analytics and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines that extract, transform, and load data from various sources.

  • Data Integration: Oversee the integration of disparate data sources, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and quality. Collaborate with business analysts to understand data requirements.

  • Performance Optimization: Continuously improve the performance and scalability of data pipelines and databases.

  • Data Modeling: Create and manage data models and schemas to support advanced analytics and reporting, taking into consideration business requirements and data standards.

  • Data Security and Compliance: Ensure data security and compliance with company policies and industry regulations. Implement data access controls and encryption as needed.

  • Automation and Orchestration: Implement automation and orchestration processes to streamline data ingestion, data transformation, and reporting tasks.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with data analysts, data scientists, and business stakeholders to understand their data needs and assist in creating solutions.

  • Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Set up monitoring and alerting systems to proactively identify and resolve data-related issues.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer with a strong focus on Microsoft Technologies or SAP Technologies

  • In-depth knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, data modeling, and database management.

  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with data integration tools.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.

  • Familiarity with data security and compliance best practices.

  • Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends in data engineering.
