Data Engineer

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a disciplined and talented data engineer who is passionate about solving problems and improving the lives of people.  SEL develops critical products that provide the main interface for protecting, controlling, monitoring, and analyzing the power grid.    

Our team supports a wide variety of internal customers, including Finance, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Sales.  We would like a well-rounded individual to collaborate with us to build scalable data solutions that delight our customers and make their day-to-day lives better.  

As a Data Engineer, a typical day might include the following:  

• Designing normalized, relational data models and/or dimensional models for OLTP and OLAP systems.

• Collaborating with stakeholders to build enterprise reporting models.

• Designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines that move data from various sources while ensuring that the data is accurate, consistent, and secure.

• Administering and optimizing our data solutions for performance and scalability.

• Building solutions with technologies like SQL Server, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL, Azure Stream Analytics, SSIS, SSAS, and Power BI Premium

Pay Range Data:

Associate Data Engineer, $78,000 – $95,000. Data Engineer, $88,600 – $108,100. Lead Data Engineer, $101,700 – $124,000. We base our starting pay offer on location and job-related factors such as candidate experience, training, knowledge, and skills. Our ranges are determined by job, responsibility, and location.
