As a Data Engineer, you will be developing, testing and implementing data engineering solutions and analytical and reporting solutions. In this role, you will be responsible for analyzing and preparing the data needed for data science based outcomes. Also your tasks will be managing and maintaining metadata data structures besides providing necessary support for post-deployment related activities when needed.
You be successful in this role, you should have related expertise with report design, report tuning and performance optimization, data analysis, and data manipulation as well as a fundamental understanding of end-to-end business processes and BI systems.
Job Description
Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

Leverage technical data dictionaries and business glossaries to analyze the datasets,
-
Perform data profiling and data analysis for any source systems and the target data repositories,
-
Develop data mapping specifications based on the results of data analysis and functional requirements,
-
Perform a variety of data loads & data transformations using multiple tools and technologies,
-
Build automated Extract, Transform & Load (ETL) jobs based on data mapping specifications,
-
Validate the data mapping results and match with the expected results,
-
Implement Data Quality (DQ) rules based on data quality assessment, data cleansing and data analytics,
-
Generate reports, annotated code, and other projects artifacts to document, archive, and communicate your work and outcomes,
-
Works closely with teams and individuals to design and create dashboards/reports to ensure accurate data. Provide test support

Assists and manages customers through the report requirements and design process.

Ability to query data both in relational database and big data platforms, can troubleshoot data issues and provide corrective measures,
-
Ability to work with other technical teams across multiple initiatives to provide timely delivery in an enterprise environment.
Education Qualification

Bachelor's Degree in with basic experience.
Desired Characteristics / Technical Expertise:

Ability to understand logical and physicals data models, data modeling methodologies, metadata management, master data management & data lineage techniques,

Expert understanding of multiple modern BI software & visualization tools (PowerBI),

Prior experience working with logical or semantic models as the basis for report development,

Hands-on experience in writing SQL scripts for Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL or Hive,
-
Experience in handling both Online Transaction Processing (OLTP) and Online Analytical Processing (OLAP) data models,

Exposure to unstructured datasets and ability to handle XML, JSON file formats

Exposure to Extract, Transform & Load (ETL) tools like Informatica or Talend.

Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to professionally interact with a diverse blend of personalities to reach resolution and maintain strong relationships
