Description:

The Data Engineer will be responsible for designing and building systems for collecting, cleaning, analyzing, storing, and interpreting data to solve problems and answer questions. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have experience in data pipeline development, database management, ETL processes, and data architecture.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Design and implement data pipelines to collect and process both structured and unstructured data from various sources.

  • Develop and maintain data models that effectively represent business processes and support analytical needs.

  • Ensure data quality and integrity through effective data management practices.

  • Collaborate with departments to understand their data needs and provide the necessary infrastructure for informed decision-making.

  • Optimize data storage and retrieval processes for efficiency and performance.

  • Utilize data modeling techniques to structure data for analysis and reporting.

  • Utilize Azure services (such as Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Blob Storage) to build scalable data solutions.

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology) or the equivalent work experience.

  • Proven experience in data engineering or a related role.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skill.

  • Visa sponsorship for work authorization is not available for this position now or in the future.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL) is a must.

  • Strong Python skills for data processing, automation, and building data pipelines.

  • Experience with Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to integrate data from different sources into databases.

  • Experience in data modeling techniques.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • Familiarity with data visualization techniques and tools.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.

  • Familiarity with Azure cloud services and tools for data engineering is a plus.

  • Understanding of machine learning concepts and their application in data engineering.
