Major purpose
As a Data Engineer for the Dealer Data Lake Team, in the John Deere Dealer Business System program, you will be a member of a delivery scrum team and work closely with the business and other Information Technology (IT) teams focusing on the processes of gathering, analyzing and documenting information requirements using Microsoft based data management tools and techniques for the creating, support and administration of database objects as well as delivering Microsoft PowerBI / Fabric based reporting and analytics. Responsibility extends to other departments and functional operations and interaction with business contacts on tactical issues. Participates in various roles as a team member. Uses discretion and judgment in planning own work/schedule. Participates in sharing knowledge within the team. Applies information analyses to assist in the effective implementation. Completes routine changes and improvements to existing processes with some review. Expertise in all technologies indicated is strongly desired and will make you stand out from other candidates. Additionally, we are seeking a candidate with strong foundational knowledge with a desire to learn and grow your skills alongside your teammates.
Major Duties

  • Make recommendations to improve data and analytics systems and platforms, contributing to the continuous improvement and refinement of data and analytics strategy.
  • Support collection of business requirements using a variety of methods, such as interviews, document analysis, and workflow analysis, to express requirements clearly and succinctly.
  • Work independently to collate and analyze data using predetermine tools, methods, and formats to create standard insights.
  • Support creation of machine learning algorithms by applying standard statistical analysis or data preparation methods.
  • Contribute to the preparation of various data and analytics reports.
  • Consult and educate stakeholders on methods for streamlining and standardizing data recording to ensure quality and accuracy.
  • Help others get the most out of data management systems by providing support and advice.
  • Collate and analyze data using preset tools, methods, and formats. Involves working independently and collaboratively with the scrum team.
  • Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching; gain or maintain external professional accreditation, where relevant, to improve performance and fulfill personal potential. Maintain an understanding of relevant technology, external regulation, and industry best practices through ongoing education, attending conferences, and reading specialist media.
  • Proven experience in an Agile/Scrum team environment desirable
