Data Engineer
Location: This job is available to work in one of our hub locations: Tampa, FL; Denver, CO; DC metro area, CA (Bay area), Austin, TX and will be hybrid
Deepwatch is seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. Reporting directly to the VP, MXDR Solutions Architecture, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing data architecture to support AI and machine learning models. The position requires collaboration with data scientists, AI engineers, and business stakeholders to meet technical and analytical needs. You will also perform data analysis to uncover business insights, maintain dashboards, and leverage advanced statistical techniques.
In this role you'll get to support:
Data Architecture Management:
- Design and implement scalable, high-performance data architectures that support AI and machine learning models
- Develop and maintain data pipelines to ensure seamless data flow from various sources to data storage and processing systems
- Optimize data storage solutions for performance, cost, and scalability
ETL Processes:
- Develop, test, and maintain robust ETL processes to extract, transform, and load data from diverse sources
- Ensure data is processed efficiently and accurately, minimizing latency and maximizing throughput
- Automate ETL workflows to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention
Data Quality Assurance:
- Implement data validation and cleansing procedures to ensure data integrity and consistency
- Monitor data quality metrics and perform regular audits to identify and resolve data issues
- Collaborate with data governance teams to establish and enforce data quality standards
Collaboration:
- Work closely with data scientists to understand their data needs and provide the necessary data infrastructure
- Partner with AI engineers to integrate data pipelines with machine learning models and AI applications
- Liaise with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications
Data Analysis:
- Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover insights and trends that inform business decisions
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to visualize key metrics and performance indicators
- Utilize statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze data and generate predictive models
Innovation:
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI, machine learning, and data engineering technologies
- Evaluate and implement new tools and technologies to enhance data processing capabilities
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging experimentation and innovation within the team
To be successful in this role you'll need to have:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering, with some experience supporting AI and ML projects
- Hands-on experience with data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques
- Technical skills that include programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
- Knowledge of big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, and data warehousing solutions
- Experience with cloud services like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Experience with AI Frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar frameworks a plus
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex data issues
ITAR Compliance

The anticipated salary range for this role is $106,000 to $150,000 + stock options + benefits. Actual compensation may vary from posted hiring range based upon geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level.
