Since becoming the first company that has driven a car on European public roads with no one inside Vay have become the leading Teledriving company in the world setting the global standard for remotely driven vehicles. Vay are now operating a safe, affordable, and sustainable door-to-door mobility service in the Las Vegas, US and will soon begin scaling to other locations in the USA, Europe & beyond. Our Vay Drive service is a driverless delivered, by the minute car rental service, creating an exciting, safe & affordable experience for all.

The responsibilities:
- You’ll help develop and maintain ETL pipelines and APIs using tools like AWS Lambda, AWS Step Functions, GitHub Actions, Apache Kafka, and Airbyte.
- You’ll assist in designing, implementing, and managing data models within our data warehouse (Snowflake) using dbt, aligning with the needs of our Data Analysts.
- You’ll contribute to negotiating and designing data contracts using formats such as Protobuf, Apache Avro, and JSON.
- You'll help manage cloud infrastructure using Terraform and GitHub Actions, working to automate and streamline processes.
- You’ll monitor the integrity of our infrastructure and data quality using monitoring tools like Grafana, AWS CloudWatch, AWS Alerts, and Apache Superset, ensuring everything runs smoothly and issues are caught early.
- Work with a team to continuously improve our data platform’s reliability, performance, and scalability.
The profile:
- You’re confident with SQL, with experience writing queries and performing data manipulation.
- You can program in Golang and Python, and you’re comfortable using AI tools to enhance your workflows.
- You’re proactive, able to manage your time effectively, and motivated to solve problems and develop technical solutions.
- You enjoy collaborating with teams and thrive in a fast-paced, rapidly evolving environment.

Vay is the first company to drive a car without a person inside on public streets in Europe and the US, enabled by teledriving (e.g. remote driving) technology. Vay aims to launch a sustainable, affordable, door-to-door mobility service with remotely driven ("teledriven") cars: Teledrivers bring an electric car to the customer and pick it up after the journey is completed, eliminating the time-consuming search for a parking spot for the customer. While in the car, the customers drive themselves.

Vay was founded in Berlin in 2018 by Thomas von der Ohe, Fabrizio Scelsi and Bogdan Djukic. Vay's team of 150+ people combines the best of two worlds - software & product experience from Silicon Valley and automotive hardware & safety engineering from Europe. The company has offices in Berlin and Hamburg, Germany, as well as in Las Vegas, USA. Vay raised a USD 95m Series B funding round.
