Project: Data Management Platform Integration Services

The Government of Alberta is seeking a hands-on Talend Integration Platform Analyst to develop, operate, troubleshoot, and enhance enterprise data integrations within the Data Management Platform. The role focuses on Talend-based ETL/ELT integrations, SQL development, job scheduling and monitoring, production support, incident resolution, data quality, and integration modernization.

The resource will collaborate with data engineers, solution architects, platform administrators, application teams, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver reliable and scalable integrations across databases, files, APIs, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain Talend integration jobs, services, APIs, and reusable components.
  
• Develop ETL/ELT pipelines across databases, files, APIs, cloud platforms, and enterprise applications.
  
• Translate business/data requirements into technical designs, mappings, transformations, and reconciliation processes.
  
• Build parameterized and environment-aware integrations across Dev, Test, and Production.
  
• Develop batch and near-real-time integrations.
  
• Administer, schedule, orchestrate, monitor, and troubleshoot Talend jobs and platform components.
  
• Support Talend Management Console (TMC) and Talend platform operations.
  
• Investigate production incidents, failed data loads, integration errors, and performance issues.
  
• Perform root-cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  
• Implement logging, monitoring, alerting, and automated recovery mechanisms.
  
• Support releases, upgrades, patching, and environment maintenance.
  
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams, vendors, business stakeholders, and application teams.
  
• Apply AI and automation tools for pipeline development, testing, monitoring, documentation, code generation, optimization, and review.
  
• Participate in solution design, estimation, and release planning.
  

Mandatory Requirements

• Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate in Computer Science or a related field.
  
• Minimum 3 years of experience designing, developing, testing, and supporting enterprise data integration solutions.
  
• Minimum 5 years of experience administering and supporting Talend Management Console (TMC) or Talend platform.
  
• Minimum 3 years of experience installing, configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting Talend Remote Engine.
  
• Minimum 2 years of experience providing production support for enterprise integration solutions.
  
• Minimum 4 years of experience working within a mature Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  
• Minimum 1 year of experience using AI for code generation, data analysis, automation, or related development activities.
  
• Hands-on experience with Talend Data Integration / Talend Data Fabric / Talend Studio.
  

Nice-to-Have Requirements

• 6+ years of business requirements analysis related to data/integration.
  
• 6+ years of strong Microsoft SQL Server experience.
  
• 2+ years building scalable ETL pipelines, enforcing data quality, and working with cloud platforms.
  
• 3+ years designing and integrating RESTful APIs.
  
• 3+ years working with Message Queueing Technologies.
  
• 1+ year working with ServiceNow/Azure-based Data Management Platform integrations.
