Job Summary

We are seeking a Data Warehouse Engineer to join our data team as a strong individual contributor. In this role, you will be responsible for building, optimizing, and maintaining the data pipelines that power our business intelligence and reporting.

You aren't just writing code; you're ensuring our data reflects the complex realities of our SaaS and insurance operations. You will work closely with lead architects to implement scalable solutions and serve as a subject matter expert in SQL and database performance.

What You Will Do As A Data Warehouse Engineer

  • Pipeline Development: Build and monitor robust ETL/ELT pipelines using BigQuery, Dataflow, and Cloud Composer.
  • Expert SQL Execution: Develop high-performance SQL scripts for complex data transformations, ensuring accuracy across multiple datasets.
  • Schema Management: Contribute to the design and refinement of data models (Star/Snowflake) to support evolving business requirements in the insurance and SaaS space.
  • Performance Tuning: Proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks in data pipelines, optimizing for both query speed and cloud cost-efficiency.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and Actuaries to translate business logic—such as churn rates or claims ratios—into technical specifications.
  • Code Quality: Participate in peer code reviews and maintain documentation to ensure the long-term health of our data warehouse.

What You Will Bring As A Data Warehouse Engineer

  • 3+ years of professional data engineering experience, specifically within cloud-based data warehouses.
  • Solid experience with the Google Cloud ecosystem, including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, and IAM best practices.
  • Expert-level SQL proficiency, including comfort with window functions, recursive CTEs, query plan analysis, and writing DDL.
  • Strong grasp of partitioning, clustering, and data warehousing lifecycle management.
  • Detail-oriented, taking pride in data integrity and “clean” code.
  • Collaborative, enjoys working as part of a high-functioning team and is comfortable contributing to shared goals.
  • Adaptable, able to pivot between building new features and troubleshooting legacy pipelines as business needs change.
  • Excellent written and communication skills in English language.
  • Proven experience working with US based business teams.
  • Working Hours: 8 Hours (Excluding breaks) 4 Core US Hours Overlap (7:30pm–11:30pm IST)  4 flexible hours (IST)
  • Workspace: A quiet, dedicated space to work, and a reliable internet connection with a minimum speed of 50 Mbps.

What You Will Get As A Porch Group Team Member

Pay Range*: ₹1,575,000 – ₹2,205,000 INR Annually
