Position Overview: 

 

The goal of this position is to design, build, and maintain scalable cloud-based data solutions that support enterprise reporting, analytics, and operational decision-making. This role focuses on building scalable cloud-based data solutions by integrating enterprise source systems into Snowflake using Fivetran and Coalesce, and delivering curated, trusted datasets that support Tableau reporting, analytics, and operational decision-making. 

 

Additionally, this position will support enterprise data governance, data quality initiatives, cloud data warehouse development, and modernization of legacy reporting solutions. The Data Engineer will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, analysts, architects, and developers to deliver scalable and trusted data solutions across the organization. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

 

The Data Engineer: 
 

  • Builds scalable and robust cloud-based data solutions that can adapt over time to changing business and source system requirements 

  • Designs, develops, and maintains ELT/ETL pipelines using modern cloud technologies and data integration platforms 

  • Develops and optimizes data ingestion and transformation processes using tools such as Snowflake, SQL Server, MySQL, Fivetran, Coalesce and Github 

  • Maintains and improves enterprise data warehouse structures, curated datasets, and transformation logic for reporting and analytics 

  • Optimizes SQL queries and warehouse performance for accuracy, scalability, and efficiency 

  • Collaborates with business and technical teams to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions 

  • Monitors, troubleshoots, and improves data workflows and production data processes 

  • Supports data governance initiatives including metadata management, lineage tracking, documentation, and data quality validation 

  • Diagrams and documents data flows, integrations, schemas, and transformation logic across enterprise systems 

  • Supports Tableau reporting initiatives by delivering validated and high-quality datasets for dashboards and analytics 

  • Participates in Agile development processes including sprint planning, estimation, backlog grooming, and release activities  

  • Ensures secure and compliant handling of sensitive organizational PHI data 

  • Performs other duties as assigned 
     

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business Analytics, or related field (preferred) 

  • Experience developing and implementing ETL/ELT processes and enterprise data solutions (required)  

  • Experience with Snowflake, SQL Server, MySQL, Fivetran, Coalesce, and Github (preferred) 

  • Experience with JIRA or similar tools (preferred) 

  • Strong SQL development and query optimization experience 

  • Experience working in Agile development environments 

  • Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and data governance best practices 

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail 

  • Excellent written, verbal, and oral skills  

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously  

  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule
