The Data Warehouse Engineer creates desired functionality to assigned domain, products or services in data warehouse development. Supports singular data warehouse features or data domains.  Demonstrates knowledge of specific data warehouse methodology and frameworks within the context of assigned business domain, product or service.  Responsible for delivering desired content and capability to assigned data domains, products or services in the Enterprise Data Warehouse. Develops, tests and implements warehouse metadata/objects that provides a robust technical architecture used by business units.

Responsibilities

Accountabilities

  • Develop data warehouse objects and the underlying framework metadata.
  • Collaborate to evaluate data warehouse designs.
  • Implement, test and deliver new features for multiple platforms.
  • Coordinate with QA team to initiate testing and ensure testing is completed.
  • May design framework and metadata standards and make suggestions for data model improvements .
  • Confirm that data model designs support the integration of data and reporting/informatics.
  • Analyze and make recommendations on the impact of data model design as they relate to common conceptual models.
  • Identify inefficiencies in design.

Problem Solving & Analysis

  • Recommend solutions based on established best practices.
  • Use logic and analytical thinking to solves problems.
  • Work is more variable at this level; as such must consider multiple options to solve problems.

Decision Making / Autonomy

  • Make tactical decisions that are driven by the priorities of the project and that fall within defined procedures.
  • Issus not defined by best practices are escalated to Manager.
  • Nearly self-sufficient and capable of working with limited supervision.

Communications / Interactions

  • Communicate with Management on status issues and decisions.
  • Facilitate discussions for the product with the product team.
  • Provide support to less experienced team members.
  • Create and deliver presentations and communication to peers.
  • All other Duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in MIS, Computer Science or related field  preferred
