We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipeline to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will work closely with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure data availability, quality, and reliability. This position will be based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania as a hybrid role that has a requirement of working three days a week in the office.

We will count on you to:
- Develop, maintain, and optimize data models and ELT pipelines supporting layered data architectures to enhance data processing efficiency and transformation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to support architectural designs, address technical queries, and provide guidance on effective use of data platforms.
- Use and contribute to the data engineering toolset at Marsh, adhering to our best practices and standards while also helping to make improvements based on your experience and project requirements
- Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering and cloud data solutions continuously enhancing your skills.
- Promote data and analytics capabilities to business stakeholders, educating them on how to leverage data tools and practices for their analytical needs.
What you need to have:
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Romanian.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in technical data engineering roles within large enterprise environments.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python; experience cloud data warehousing technologies (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, Synapse, BigQuery).
- Working knowledge of Git, CI/CD, and DevOps principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
