We are seeking a Data EngineerII to join our IT team to build a data lake based on ERP systems.  The Data Engineer will be responsible for supporting and enhancing existing Data Analytics Platform Solutions using data platform such as but not limited to Oracle EBS, Oracle Fusion cloud & Microsoft Azure. This role will partner with Senior team members and business teams to identify data integration opportunities, define functional and non-functional requirements, and develop data workflows and processes to deliver an analytics solution.  

 

The candidate should be knowledgeable of a variety of techniques to provide actionable insights while familiar with manipulating, cleaning, and analyzing large datasets. The candidate must also be trained in one or more programming languages and must have familiarity with software development tools and life cycle. The candidate must be comfortable with ambiguity and able to converse with Data Architect/Business analyst to better understand data and business problems. 

Essential Functions:

  • Possess knowledge and technical expertise in developing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views to perform Data Analysis and Data Modeling.
  • Maintain/Update existing data platform solutions and data models created using Azure platform/Power BI.
  • Build Data Integrations to provide quality data.
  • Build KPIs and metrics to support business.
  • Understand user requirements for how data is used to make decisions. Includes process mapping, optimization, and technology enablement.
  • Extract data from various data sources; perform exploratory data analysis, cleanse, massage, and aggregate data to develop end to end data and analytics solutions.
  • Job monitoring and troubleshooting.
  • Support Business Analysts by understanding their requirements and reporting tools.
  • Perform POCs using various machine learning and AI technologies.
  • Implement appropriate Azure services related to data and analytics to build Enterprise Data warehouse/Data Lake.
  • Help support day to day activities of the Analytics team; this may include creating knowledge base articles, updates to platform manuals and documentation, best practices and guidance, and diagnostics of issues that are raised as well as promoting and advocating for the value of advanced modeling techniques.
  • Participate in demos and user acceptance reviews while working with the technical team on the creation of design documents and artifacts.
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to deliver new, innovative solutions to Crane Aerospace & Electronics users.
  • Desire to learn new areas and tools required to enable BI solutions.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience: 3-4 years of demonstrated experience building Data Warehouses and dimensional models with ETL development.

  • 1-2 years of experience building reports, and dashboards using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, QLIK.T-SQL Programming, PL/SQL.

Knowledge/Skills: Understanding of Relational Databases, dimensional data warehouse, ETL processes.

  • Experience with Cloud services such as Azure/AWS/GCP/OIC;
  • Strong problem-solving skills with an emphasis on analysis and resolution of complex functional areas and technical issues across teams
  • Python, Py-Spark or similar scripting languages.

Education/Certification: Bachelor or higher degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or other quantitative fields.

Eligibility Requirement:This position may require access to Controlled Data or Information. Where the position requires such access only US persons will be considered.  As a US Department of Defense contractor, we are bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Oracle EBS and Fusion cloud data structure, OIC
  • Knowledge about Azure Services, Databricks, Synapse
  • Data analysis training or experience working with structured and/or unstructured datasets.
  • Knowledge of machine learning tools
  • Experience with Azure

Working Conditions: 

  • Standard office environment  

  • Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment 

  • Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to: eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel/wrist straps and any other required PPE 

  • May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes 

  • Requires work with small to medium size hand and power tools 

  • Occasional travel to customer and outside test lab facilities for technical interchange meetings, design reviews, product testing support, and attend technical seminars 

  • May need to travel domestically and internationally (up to 10%) 

  • Standing: 10% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task

Annual Salary: $100,411 - $128,604 USD Annual

Several factors contribute to actual salary, including experience in a similar role or performing comparable job responsibilities, skills, training, and other qualifications. Some roles may be eligible for participation in performance-based bonus program.
