Equifax is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data/Platform Engineer (Entry Level) to join our team. In this role, you will primarily focus on supporting and maintaining critical internal web applications utilizing modern Python and JavaScript frameworks. Working under the guidance of senior engineers and team leaders, this is a fantastic opportunity to start your career by getting hands-on experience with full-stack application support, cloud technologies (GCP), and data pipelines.
What you’ll do:Support, maintain, and troubleshoot internal web application components utilizing Python and JavaScript.
Assist in designing and maintaining simple data integrations from various source systems into our cloud environment.
Investigate application issues, analyze problems, identify root causes, and escalate to senior team members when necessary.
Perform basic data quality checks and help monitor the health of infrastructure components.
Actively participate in the software deployment process.
Create and maintain technical documentation in our internal repositories to ensure operational excellence.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related STEM subject.
1 year of practical experience (including internships or academic projects) in software development or data engineering.
1 year of experience with strong foundational programming skills in Python and JavaScript.
1 Year of SQL for data querying and analysis (including CTEs, Joins, Partitions, Clusters, Normalization, denormalization, and transactions).
Minimum English proficiency level of B2 or B2+.

Experience or familiarity with data orchestration tools such as Airflow or managing DAGs.
Hands-on academic or internship experience using modern Python web frameworks.
Introductory understanding of cloud computing concepts, with a strong preference for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or AWS, or related cloud certifications.

- 3+ years practical experience in data engineering or related fields with strong Python and SQL skills
- 2+ years experience using Python web frameworks (e.g., Django) and understanding of full-stack development principles
- 2+ years hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or AWS for data engineering tasks
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining data integrations into GCP and BigQuery, including query optimization
- 1+ years experience with cloud monitoring tools (Datadog, GCP Cloud Monitoring) and incident alerting platforms (PagerDuty)
- Experience using Git for version control and participating in CI/CD pipelines
- Conceptual understanding or experience with Machine Learning concepts (at least 1 year)
- Proven experience developing and deploying Full Stack applications using Python and Django, including frontend components
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes) within a GCP context
- Experience automating incident response procedures
