We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Governance team, with a strong focus on Data Quality, Metadata Management, Data Lineage, and Enterprise Data Governance. This role supports enterprise-scale data platforms in hybrid (on-premises and cloud) environments and works closely with Data Stewards, Analysts, and Platform teams to ensure trusted, well-governed data across the organization.Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement data quality frameworks, validation rules, metrics, and automated monitoring.
- Develop solutions for data anomaly detection and data quality issue analysis.
- Build and maintain metadata repositories and end-to-end data lineage across data pipelines.
- Integrate data quality and metadata solutions with governance tools
- Support implementation of data governance policies, standards, and controls across the data lifecycle.
- Design and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for structured and unstructured data.
- Optimize data pipelines for hybrid data platforms (on-premises and cloud).
- Collaborate with Data Stewards, Analysts, and Governance teams to align technical solutions with business needs.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in data engineering and governance.
Experience
- 5–10 years of experience in Data Engineering, with exposure to data quality, metadata, lineage, or data governance.
Technical Skills
- Strong skills in Python and SQL (Scala is a plus).
- Experience with PySpark, dbt, or modern data processing frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT tools such as Informatica IDMC, Talend, or Apache NiFi.
- Experience with metadata and governance tools (e.g., Informatica EDC, Axon, Collibra, Alation).
- Familiarity with data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, and data lake/lakehouse architectures.
- Experience working in hybrid or multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Experience applying Generative AI / LLMs for metadata automation, data quality improvement, or anomaly detection.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to mentor and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
