Citi is looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join its Technology team and play a central role in the Oracle Ledger program — a high-impact initiative transforming upstream financial data into the Oracle Financials SaaS platform. In this mid-level role, you will design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade ETL pipelines using the Ab Initio platform, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of data that directly supports Citi's strategic financial operations. This is an opportunity to apply deep data engineering expertise on a complex, large-scale program where the quality of your work has direct and measurable business impact.
Responsibilities- Design, build, and maintain high-performance ETL pipelines using the Ab Initio suite — including GDE, Co>Operating System, and EME — to transform upstream data into the format required for Oracle Financials SaaS.
- Conduct data analysis, data profiling, and data quality assessments to validate the integrity of data flowing through the Strategic Ledger pipelines.
- Translate business requirements from the Strategic Ledger program into precise technical specifications for ETL jobs and data models.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries to support data extraction, transformation, and loading across multiple database platforms.
- Create and manage metadata within the Ab Initio Enterprise Meta>Environment (EME), maintaining version control and adherence to program development standards.
- Write Unix/Linux shell scripts to automate job scheduling, file handling, and data transformation processes.
- Provide production support for live data applications, diagnose and resolve issues quickly, and carry out performance tuning to meet agreed service levels.
- Collaborate with data architects, business analysts, and cross-functional technology teams to ensure ETL solutions meet both technical standards and business objectives.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in ETL development and data systems analysis, with a background in delivering complex, data-centric projects.
- Deep, proven expertise with the Ab Initio platform — including GDE, Co>Operating System, and EME — applied in a production environment.
- Advanced SQL skills and practical experience with relational databases such as Oracle or Teradata.
- Solid command of Unix/Linux environments, including the ability to write and maintain shell scripts for automation and scheduling.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams, meet tight deadlines, and adapt when requirements shift.
- Strong grounding in data warehousing principles, data modelling, and ETL best practices, with the ability to translate these into scalable, maintainable solutions.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Technology, or Computer Science or equivalent professional experience in a relevant technical discipline.
- Experience delivering large-scale data transformation programs that load data into financial systems such as Oracle Financials or SAP.
- Background in financial services, providing familiarity with the data governance and regulatory requirements of the industry.
- Familiarity with job scheduling tools such as Autosys.
- Working knowledge of project management methodologies and the ability to contribute to structured delivery frameworks.

- Exposure to large-scale, enterprise-grade programs that offer genuine technical challenge and career advancement.
- Wellbeing support and work-life balance initiatives designed to help you perform at your best over the long term.
