Our Digital Solutions IT team is searching for a talented Data Engineer to oversee and enhance our data services.
As a Data Engineer, you will work in a SCRUM team closely with the backend developers, solutions architects and UI/App developers to build and enhance our existing and future digital services within Continental Tires.
Main responsibilities:
- Support and maintain cloud-based data platforms, pipelines, and streaming solutions;
- Develop and enhance batch and real-time data pipelines:
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve data and platform issues;
- Support CI/CD, deployment, and automation processes;
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and deliver data requirements;
- Contribute to data models, Lakehouse structures, and data quality improvements;
- Apply engineering best practices through testing, code reviews, and documentation;
- Work with internal and external teams to deliver scalable data solutions;
- Ensure data reliability, performance, and availability across platforms;
- Stay current with cloud, data, and streaming technologies and contribute to continuous improvement.
- University degree in Computer Science, IT, or related studies;
- +3 years of experience in data engineering, software development, or data warehousing.
- Experience with Java and SQL;
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL is an advantage;
- Understanding of data integration and processing of data from multiple source systems;
- Familiarity with data streaming technologies such as Kafka and Apache Flink;
- Exposure to modern data lake technologies (e.g., Apache Iceberg) is a plus;
- Knowledge of HBase, Spark, or Hive is a plus;
- Familiarity with Git, CI/CD practices, and tools such as Jenkins;
- Experience working in Agile/SCRUM teams;
- Analytical mindset and excellent problem-solving skills;
- Proficient English skills (written and spoken).
