Primary Responsibilities:
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Engineering technologies, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Databricks, and Apache Spark
  • Develop and optimize batch and streaming data processing solutions using Databricks (Structured Streaming, Auto Loader) with Scala and/or Python
  • Implement and manage Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold layers) to ensure data quality, reusability, and performance
  • Architect and implement end-to-end data movement solutions across OLTP and OLAP systems, ensuring efficient ingestion, transformation, and consumption of data
  • Write complex, high-performance SQL queries for data transformation, validation, and analytics use cases
  • Support analytics and reporting use cases by enabling curated datasets for Power BI and/or other BI and front-end analytics tools
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and analytics teams to translate business requirements into robust data solutions
  • Contribute to AI/BI dashboards, Databricks Genie, and advanced analytical use cases leveraging modern lakehouse capabilities
  • Ensure data pipelines are reliable, fault-tolerant, and monitored; implement best practices for error handling, logging, and performance tuning'
  • Participate in Agile development ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives) and follow iterative delivery practices
  • Implement and maintain testing automation for data pipelines, including unit tests and data quality validations
  • Follow best practices for security, governance, and compliance in cloud-based data platforms
  • Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). Required Qualifications:
  • Graduate degree or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of solid hands-on experience in Data Engineering using Azure ecosystem (Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse, Azure Databricks or equivalent)
  • Proven expertise with Databricks and Apache Spark, including:
    • Batch and streaming processing
      • Auto Loader
      • Structured Streaming
      • Lakehouse and Medallion architecture
      • Proficiency in Scala and/or Python for building data pipelines and transformations
      • Solid command of SQL, with deep understanding of:
    • Query optimization
      • OLTP vs OLAP concepts
      • Dimensional and analytical data modeling
      • Experience working with Power BI or other visualization / front-end analytics tools
      • Solid understanding of solution architecture, including designing scalable, maintainable, and cost-effective data platforms
      • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience working in Agile teams
      • Experience with testing automation frameworks and data quality validation techniques
      • Good understanding of cloud-based data security, governance, and access control concepts
      • Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as in cross-functional teams
