Data Engineer / BI Consultant (Microsoft Data Platform)
Job description:
As a member of our data consulting team, you will support current and future client projects built on modern Microsoft data platforms. We are proactively recruiting Data Engineers and BI Consultants to build a strong talent pool for upcoming missions.
You will contribute to the design, implementation, and optimization of data platforms, analytics solutions, and reporting environments, working closely with technical and business stakeholders in varied client contexts.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain data ingestion and transformation pipelines (ETL/ELT)
- Work with Lakehouse or Data Warehouse architectures (Bronze / Silver / Gold layers)
- Develop, optimize, and maintain SQL-based data models and schemas
- Support the development of Power BI semantic models, reports, and dashboards
- Collaborate with BI, data science, and business teams to understand data requirements
- Contribute to technical documentation and best practices
- Participate in version control, CI/CD processes, and deployment pipelines (Git)
- Support testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization activities
Technical skills:
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering and/or BI projects (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of SQL
- Experience with Microsoft data tools (Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or similar)
- Basic understanding of Spark / PySpark or modern data transformation concepts
- Experience with Power BI (data modeling, DAX, report and dashboard development)
- Familiarity with Git and CI/CD practices
- Understanding of REST APIs and service principals is a plus
- Exposure to Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Pipelines, Notebooks), OneLake, Delta Lake, and Azure fundamentals is an asset
Profile:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Data, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field
- Strong analytical mindset with problem-solving skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional and client-facing teams
- Clear communication skills and ability to document technical solutions
- Interest in data architecture and scalable analytics solutions
- Proactive, adaptable, and comfortable working in different client environments
- Fluency in English is required; French is a strong asset
