Overview

This role is for a developer with strong core application or system programming skills in Java with good exposure to Spark and the broader Hadoop ecosystem. The Compliance team focused on building Trade Surveillance models to meet the Bank

What You’ll Do

• Design and maintain high-quality data driven microservices

• Follow the DevOps model to build stable, ideally zero-ops applications, share the responsibility for a stable production

• Find new ways to work more efficiently and support the introduction of productivity-increasing measures, leaner processes, efficient tools and generally automation

• Actively and continuously look to expand your understanding of technologies currently or perspectively employed in our squad

• Act as a true agile team member prioritizing team goals

• Deepen knowledge in respect to architecture and solution design

Skills You’ll Need

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, Experience in designing and developing distributed computing applications using Python/Java & Apache Spark

• Strong programming experience in python will be preferred. Expert level Python/Java programmers with basic understanding of functional programming will also be considered

• Experience developing application using Java/Python, Spring/FastAPI, Microservices and RESTful services and writing Structured Query Language (SQL) queries

• Experience with source control (Git, bitbucket), build tools (Maven, gradle) and continuous integration (TeamCity / Jenkins and with any cache like Orache Coherence, Redis

• Experience With Global Control Programme (GCP) services like DataProc, GCS, IAM, BigQuery, Cloud Composer etc

Skills That Will Help You Excel

• Behavior Driven Development, particularly experience of how it can be used to define requirements in a collaborative manner, ensure that the team builds the right thing and create a system of living documentation

• Knowledge gained in Financial Services environments, for example products, instruments, trade lifecycles, regulation, risk, financial reporting or accounting

Expectations

It is the Bank’s expectation that employees hired into this role will work in the Cary office in accordance with the Bank’s hybrid working model.

The salary range for this position in Cary is $85,000 to $120,750. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate’s skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
