Grab has been expanding into multiple lines of businesses. The Grab Data Warehouse team builds business intelligence systems using data from all business lines to provide insights to key stakeholders across the company.

Get to Know the Role

We are looking for a Lead Data Engineer to lead the design and enhancement of our data warehouse systems. You will play a crucial role within the team, guiding data warehouse development and working with stakeholders from different business lines. You will report into the Head of Analytics - Data Architecture and EDW and be based onsite in Singapore.

The Critical Tasks You Will Perform

• You will oversee all aspects of data warehouse system development, including technical design, testing, deployment, and support.
• You will be the main contact with Product, Business, and Engineering stakeholders to define and review technical specifications.
• You will be implementing scalable Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) jobs, data models, scripts, and data assets.
• You will establish and maintain best practices for change management, documentation, and data protocols.
• You will develop dashboards and monitoring for system metrics and thresholds.
• You will contribute to technical and product discussions, code reviews, and solution implementations.

What Essential Skills You Will Need

• You have at least 2 years of practical work experience overseeing the development, testing, deployment, and support of large-scale data warehouse systems using Spark
• You have experience in data warehousing, data modelling, and big data concepts.
• You have experience with frameworks such as Spark, Airflow, Hive
• You have proficiency in Python and SQL.
