In this role, you will be a member of the Enterprise Architecture Team responsible for establishing a data architecture that aligns with the organization's strategic goals. You will design and manage both structured and unstructured data, applying best practices in data architecture to guide development standards and solution design. By identifying gaps, uncovering opportunities, and recommending actionable improvements, you will help the enterprise maximize the value of its information and achieve its data-driven objectives.  

What You’ll Do:

  • Creates and maintains both current-state and future-state enterprise information architecture models.
  • Transforms functional and technical information requirements into conceptual, logical and physical data models to support the data warehouse, reporting, and analytical systems.
  • Leads data integration design and implementation, specifically in the area of ELT & messaging utilizing data integration tooling from Databricks.
  • Serves as an expert in efficient data management practices for data governance, data quality, data platform/architecture and data operations.
  • Responsible for design of enterprise analytic and reporting systems.
  • Performs design reviews and provides direction to technical teams implementing physical models and ETL.
  • Builds a comprehensive repository of enterprise data models, data flow diagrams, and data lineage.
  • Coaches and mentors junior technical staff and leads mid and large sized development efforts.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • 8 years of progressive experience with complex relational, OLAP, and in-memory databases, including design, development and support
  • 5 years of experience with cloud-based data and integration platforms such as Azure Synapse, Databricks, Data Lake, and Azure Data Factory

What You'll Bring:

  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, and FEAF and applies this knowledge to the design of enterprise systems.
  • Demonstrates proficiency with data architecture principals. This includes modeling, integration, warehousing, and governance, including aptitude in modeling tools, mapping, quality assessment, and lineage.
  • Well versed in the design and implementation of data management processes, including data storage, retrieval, backup, and recovery, including knowledge of database management systems, storage technologies, and disaster recovery planning. Applies experience with business intelligence and data visualization tools to design data solutions that enable effective data analysis and reporting.
  • Maintains thorough understanding of data security principles and best practices, such as data encryption, access controls, data privacy regulations, and risk management frameworks.
  • Familiar with big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases) and cloud computing platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, GCP). Effectively designs and implements solutions that leverage these technologies and platforms, as applicable.
  • Employs resourcefulness and an analytical mindset to conduct research on emerging technologies and industry trends. Effectively gauges the potential impact of new technologies on business operations. 
  • Experience with the Lakehouse medallion design pattern

What We Prefer:

  • Azure Solutions Architect certification (or similar)
  • Databricks Azure Platform Architect (or similar)
  • Databricks Certified Engineer (or similar)
  • Experience with the Data Vault 2.0 design pattern
