Summary:
The Data Architect will join our Technology Architecture team in a high-impact, hands-on role responsible for defining enterprise data architecture strategy, establishing technology standards, and enabling modern data, analytics, business intelligence, and AI capabilities. This role will partner with business stakeholders, data engineering teams, technology leaders, and other technical teams to develop scalable data solutions and drive the evolution of enterprise data platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver long-term strategic goals for enterprise-wide data architecture, technology standards, and best practices.
- Architect and design structured and unstructured data platforms supporting large-scale analytics and data processing.
- Research database, data warehouse, and data store technologies and develop implementation strategies to support modern workloads.
- Define strategies and standards for enterprise Business Intelligence (BI), reporting, analytics, and self-service BI.
- Design strategies and standards for batch, micro-batch, and real-time data pipelines.
- Evaluate BI technologies and develop implementation strategies for agile reporting and self-service analytics.
- Create and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models and associated metadata.
- Establish and maintain standards, guidelines, and best practices for data modeling and database design.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and data warehouse teams to define enterprise data warehousing, BI, analytics, and reporting strategies.
- Identify gaps and opportunities within the data and analytics environment and recommend improvements to maximize business value.
- Promote data governance, centralized metrics, common definitions, and trusted enterprise data.
- Work with technology teams to ensure solutions align with enterprise data architecture standards and participate in data analysis and solution design activities.
- Provide technical mentoring, training, and knowledge transfer to technology teams and business users.
- Research emerging data technologies and evaluate their applicability to enterprise business requirements.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related analytical field, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years of experience leading the design and development of enterprise-class applications and solutions.
- 8+ years of experience with relational database management systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, or equivalent technologies.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in a large enterprise data warehouse environment.
- 4+ years of experience as a Data Architect in a large enterprise data warehouse environment.
- 4+ years of hands-on experience with relational and dimensional data modeling in a large enterprise environment.
- 4+ years of experience implementing solutions using an enterprise data warehouse platform such as Teradata, Snowflake, or equivalent technology.
- 4+ years of experience with two or more BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, QlikView, or equivalent technologies.
- 2+ years of experience with big data technologies such as Apache Spark, Databricks, Hadoop, or equivalent technologies.
- 2+ years of experience implementing data solutions in a public cloud environment such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Demonstrated experience eliciting requirements from business stakeholders and partnering with technical teams to develop comprehensive solutions.
- Strong technical knowledge of BI best practices, including data visualization, dashboards, business metrics, KPIs, reporting, queries, search, predictive analytics, and master data management.
