Opdenergy is a growing independent renewable energy producer (IPP) with presence in Europe, United States and Latin America with more than 21 years of experience. The company develops, builds, finances, manages, and operates high quality renewable energy projects in several countries, with a portfolio of 2,6 GW (1,3 operational and + 1,3 ready to build / under construction) assets in operations and construction, whole portfolio under development sums up to over 18 GW.


We are currently looking for a Data Architect & AI Lead based in Madrid or Sevilla.


What will you help with?


  • Design and evolve Opdenergy's corporate Data & AI architecture, ensuring scalable, secure, reliable and reusable solutions.
  • Lead the design and implementation of Data Warehouses, data models, ETL/ELT processes and data integrations, working with SQL and Microsoft technologies.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI solutions, including semantic models, DAX, Power Query, dashboards and governed self-service analytics.
  • Design and develop AI solutions, including Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, RAG and AI agents using Microsoft Foundry / Azure AI Foundry.
  • Integrate data and AI solutions with corporate systems, APIs and business applications, including SAP and other heterogeneous data sources.
  • Establish technical standards and best practices across Data, BI and AI, including architecture reviews, documentation, data quality, lineage and observability.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and ensure the performance, reliability and maintainability of solutions in production.
  • Work closely with the CIO, IT, business teams and Data Owners to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions.
  • Coordinate and technically challenge external technology partners when required, ensuring knowledge and critical capabilities remain in-house.
  • Drive the evolution of the Data & AI landscape, identifying opportunities for automation, reuse and continuous improvement.

Who you are?


  • 8+ years of experience in Data, BI, Software Engineering or related technical roles, with strong experience designing and operating production Data/BI platforms.
  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL, data modelling, Data Warehousing and ETL/ELT.
  • Proven experience developing Power BI solutions end-to-end, including DAX, Power Query and semantic models.
  • Practical experience with Generative AI, RAG, AI agents or similar AI solutions.
  • Experience with cloud architectures, APIs and system integrations, preferably within the Microsoft/Azure ecosystem.
  • Experience working with data quality, monitoring, troubleshooting and technical governance in production environments.
  • Experience integrating heterogeneous data sources; knowledge of SAP would be a plus.
  • Strong technical communication skills and ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Fluent English is mandatory.
