Your key responsibilities

1. Data Architecture Strategy & Governance

• Develop, maintain, and evolve the enterprise data architecture blueprint aligned with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.
• Define and enforce data modelling, metadata, lineage, data quality, and integration standards.
• Ensure all inter‑domain data flows adhere to enterprise data architecture and interface guidelines.
• Collaborate with CDO, CIO teams, and governance bodies to embed consistent enterprise data practices.

2. Solution & Data Modelling

• Design scalable conceptual, logical, and physical data models for operational, analytical, and regulatory systems.
• Define and recommend optimal data storage patterns—data warehouse, data lake, lakehouse, data mesh, etc.
• Lead design of ETL/ELT pipelines, event‑driven data flows, and API‑based integrations.
• Ensure data models support reusability, consistency, and alignment with business semantics.

3. Data Quality, Controls & Governance Enablement

• Define architecture to support data quality frameworks, validation controls, and monitoring capabilities.
• Work with Data Stewards, Data Owners, and platform teams to embed governance workflows.
• Promote adoption of Critical Data Elements (CDEs) and ensure data accuracy, completeness, and traceability.

4. Technical Leadership & Delivery Oversight

• Provide architectural oversight for data projects and ensure compliance with enterprise standards.
• Conduct design reviews, evaluate solution proposals, and validate implementation approaches.
• Guide engineering teams on architecture best practices, data security, and platform scalability.
• Identify and drive opportunities for modernization, automation, and performance optimization.

5. Cross‑Functional Collaboration

• Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into data architecture objectives.
• Work closely with Solution Architects, Engineering Leads, and Product Owners to design end‑to‑end solutions.
• Communicate architectural decisions, technical debt considerations, and solution impacts to senior leadership.

6. Security, Compliance & Risk Management

• Ensure all data architectures comply with security policies, access controls, encryption standards, and regulatory obligations.
• Embed controls for privacy, retention, and auditability into the data ecosystem.

7. Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Evaluate emerging technologies, cloud services, and data engineering frameworks.
• Contribute to the evolution of enterprise data architecture standards and reusable accelerators.
• Advocate simplified, automated, and standardized data practices across teams.

Your skills and experience

• Strong expertise in data modelling, data architecture frameworks, and enterprise data technologies.
• Hands‑on experience with cloud data platforms (BigQuery, Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Data Lake, etc.).
• Deep knowledge of ETL/ELT, streaming technologies, API‑based data integration, and data warehousing concepts.
• Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, lineage, MDM, and data quality.
• Experience in designing data platforms at scale in enterprise / regulated industries.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
• Ability to guide engineering teams and influence architectural decisions across departments.

Preferred Experience

• Working in financial services, banking, or other regulated industries.
• Experience with enterprise‑wide governance frameworks, CDE programs, and regulatory reporting.
• Familiarity with modern architectural patterns such as data mesh, data fabric, and distributed architectures.
