POSITION SUMMARY

The Data & Reporting Analyst is responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing financial, operational, and executive reporting solutions that help leaders make informed business decisions. This role combines business analytics, financial reporting, data management, and technical data solutions to support reporting, performance measurement, and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

The ideal candidate is an early-career professional who enjoys both the technical and business sides of data. They are comfortable working with databases, reporting tools, and business systems while also seeking to understand company operations, financial performance, and strategic objectives. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to senior leadership, learn the drivers of business performance, and help build scalable reporting and analytics capabilities across the organization.

This position will play a key role in connecting data from multiple systems, creating meaningful insights, automating reporting processes, and helping establish a trusted source of operational and financial information.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial Reporting & Business Analysis

•   Assist with the development and maintenance of executive, operational, and financial reporting.

•   Support monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting processes.

•   Analyze financial and operational performance data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and key business drivers.

•   Develop dashboards and scorecards that measure company, division, department, and project performance.

•   Support budgeting, forecasting, performance reporting, and business planning initiatives.

•   Assist leadership with ad hoc analysis and special projects.

Reporting & Business Intelligence

•   Develop, maintain, and automate recurring reports using Power BI, Datarails, Excel, SQL, and related tools.

•   Create dashboards and visualizations that provide actionable insights for operational and executive leadership.

•   Define and document reporting requirements, KPIs, metrics, and business rules.

•   Ensure reporting consistency, accuracy, and usability across the organization.

•   Continuously improve reporting processes through automation and standardization.

Data Management & Technical Solutions

•   Develop and maintain SQL queries to extract, transform, validate, and analyze data.

•   Connect and integrate data from multiple business systems into reporting solutions.

•   Support the design, maintenance, and optimization of datasets, database views, and reporting structures.

•   Troubleshoot reporting and data integrity issues and assist with timely resolution.

•   Support data governance, quality assurance, validation, and reconciliation activities.

•   Assist with creating a scalable and reliable data foundation that supports business reporting and analytics.

Business Partnership

•   Collaborate with operational leaders, finance teams, project teams, and executives to understand business needs.

•   Translate business questions into data-driven solutions and actionable insights.

•   Help educate users and stakeholders on available reporting tools and capabilities.

•   Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to leverage data and technology more effectively.

Additional Responsibilities

•   Maintain documentation of reports, dashboards, datasets, and reporting processes.

•   Stay informed on emerging technologies, reporting tools, and best practices.

•   Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Technical Skills

•   Working knowledge of SQL, including joins, filtering, aggregations, and data extraction.

•   Experience with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivots, and data analysis techniques.

•   Experience with Power BI, Datarails, or similar reporting and visualization tools preferred.

•   Understanding of databases, reporting methodologies, and data structures.

•   Interest in data integration, automation, business intelligence, and analytics.

•   Ability to learn new software applications, systems, and technologies quickly.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Required

•   Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.

Preferred

•   0-3 years of professional experience in analytics, finance, reporting, business intelligence, data management, or a related field.

•   Internship, co-op, or academic project experience involving SQL, Power BI, Datarails, Excel, business intelligence, financial analysis, or data visualization.

•   Experience with project-based, engineering, construction, manufacturing, or service-related industries is helpful but not required.

WORKING CONDITIONS

•   Most work is performed in an office environment; however, occasional visits to construction jobsites may be required.
