Lead the change, from the frontline
Based in Melbourne, as the Insights Analyst, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering strategic initiatives—from product launches to operational improvements and the development of our new data platform. You’ll be the go-to expert for transforming complex data into clear, impactful reporting that drives business performance and supports regulatory compliance.
This is a maximum term 12-month opportunity.
With respect, integrity and honesty, you will:
Shape the Data Landscape
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements and reporting needs;
- Work with developers and data engineers to build robust data structures;
- Guide stakeholders on Shell Energy’s data infrastructure and governance;
Build and Improve Reports
- Own and deliver key reports using PowerBI;
- Support the transformation program with tailored reporting solutions;
- Automate and enhance existing reports to align with new architecture;
- Provide data support across business units to meet compliance obligations;
Systems & Infrastructure
- Contribute to discussions on new systems with a data-first perspective.
What you’ll bring
Here’s what you’ll need to thrive in this role:
- Experience in the Australian energy retail industry is desirable
- Excellent understanding of CRM and billing systems
- Intermediate skills in SQL, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Hands-on experience with PowerBI and platforms like Databricks
- Analytical mindset with a knack for solving complex data problems
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
Qualifications
- Tertiary education in Business, Data Analysis, related field or equivalent
- Certifications in SQL and data visualisation tools preferred
- On-the-job and further training provided
