At Boston Scientific, we’ll give you the opportunity to harness all that’s within you by working in teams of diverse and high-performing employees, tackling some of the most important health industry challenges. With access to the latest tools, information and training, we’ll help you in advancing your skills and career. Here, you’ll be supported in progressing – whatever your ambitions.

About the role:

The Data and AI Capabilities Lead will help Boston Scientific identify, shape, and advance high-value opportunities that use data, generative AI, agentic AI, and reusable AI capabilities to solve meaningful business problems.

This role sits at the intersection of business strategy, data, AI, product discovery, and technology delivery. The ideal candidate will partner with divisions, regions, and functions to move from early ideas into well-formed, investment-ready opportunities with clear value, feasibility, data readiness, adoption needs, and reusable capability fit.

The Data and AI Capabilities Lead will focus on the front end of the product lifecycle: strategic relationship building, business problem discovery, workflow analysis, AI/data feasibility, solution shaping, and value realization planning. The role will work closely with Product Owners, AI Core Services, data teams, architecture, security, engineering, and business stakeholders to ensure the right opportunities enter delivery and that funded solutions are positioned to achieve real business impact.

Boston Scientific was recognized as a Glassdoor Best Place to Work in 2026, ranking No. 15 on the Top 100 list, reflecting the culture our employees experience every day.

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be in our local office at least three (3) days per week.

Relocation assistance is not available for this position at this time.

Boston Scientific will not offer sponsorship or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this position at this time.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Build trusted relationships with business sponsors, AI councils, functional leaders, data owners, and digital partners across divisions, regions, and functions
  • Serve as a strategic Data and AI thought partner, helping stakeholders understand what AI can do, where data readiness matters, and where AI may not be the right solution
  • Identify similar needs across business areas and help combine, redirect, or scale opportunities to avoid duplicative one-off solutions
  • Facilitate workshops, interviews, and working sessions to understand current workflows, pain points, decision points, data needs, users, operational constraints, and desired outcomes
  • Evaluate opportunities using value, feasibility, repeatability, scale, data readiness, adoption readiness, and strategic alignment
  • Assess what data is required to enable a business opportunity, where that data lives, whether it is landed, governed, accessible, and usable, and where gaps or quality issues may affect feasibility or value
  • Partner with data teams, architecture, AI engineering, AI Core Services, and AI platform teams to understand technical constraints, data dependencies, reusable services, and solution pathways
  • Shape end-to-end solution concepts that may combine multiple capabilities into cohesive workflow solutions
  • Identify recurring demand patterns that should inform the AI Core Services and AI Farm capability roadmap
  • Support business sponsors as they assess expected ROI, value drivers, adoption assumptions, and operational impacts
  • Partner with Product Owners to ensure discovery outputs are clear enough to support estimation, roadmap planning, backlog creation, and delivery handoff
  • Define adoption considerations early, including business process changes, user behavior changes, training needs, stakeholder readiness, and ownership after launch
  • Help ensure funded solutions are designed not only to be delivered, but to be used, adopted, measured, and sustained

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in digital product strategy, AI/data product management, business transformation, solution consulting, enterprise technology, experience architecture, or related roles; or minimum of eight (8) years of such professional experience without a Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong familiarity with large language models (LLMs), AI agents, prompt engineering, and their application in enterprise use cases
  • Strong understanding of data and AI concepts, including generative AI, large language models, agentic AI, analytics, data platforms, integrations, and enterprise data readiness
  • Technical fluency and curiosity, with the ability to engage effectively with engineers and architects on topics such as APIs, MCPs, integrations, data flows, application architecture, and system dependencies
  • Deep interest in emerging AI technologies and their real-world applications, with the ability to quickly learn unfamiliar technologies, tools, and concepts as needed to deliver solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to partner with business stakeholders to define problems, map workflows, identify value drivers, and shape technology-enabled solutions
  • Experience working with data, architecture, engineering, security, platform, and/or AI/ML teams to assess feasibility and solution options
  • Ability to understand whether required data exists, where it lives, how usable it is, and how data quality, governance, or access may affect solution feasibility
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and executive presence, with the ability to influence without direct authority
  • Demonstrated ability to challenge assumptions, push back constructively while maintaining stakeholder trust
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to connect business needs, data assets, AI capabilities, technical constraints, and adoption requirements
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and bringing structure to early-stage ideas
  • Flexibility to collaborate across global time zones as business needs require

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience shaping or delivering AI, GenAI, agentic AI, data, analytics, or automation solutions in an enterprise environment
