Data & Analytics Application Analyst (Power BI Focus)
The Data & Analytics Application Analyst is the primary owner and subject matter expert for Johnson Brothers’ Quota Management Power BI application. This role blends technical troubleshooting, report optimization, and strong stakeholder partnership to ensure the platform remains accurate, reliable, and valuable to Sales and Sales Operations.
This is a highly visible role supporting a mission-critical sales reporting environment. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys balancing hands-on Power BI development with proactive communication, clear stakeholder engagement, and ownership of relationships across the business. Success in this role requires the ability to communicate clearly, manage expectations, and build trusted partnerships with business users while driving reporting improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Application Ownership
• Serve as the primary point of contact and SME for the Quota Management Power BI application.
• Maintain and enhance existing dashboards, models, and data flows.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure reporting accuracy.
• Own the relationship with business stakeholders and ensure reporting solutions meet their needs.
Front-End (Power BI)
• Modify and optimize reports, visuals, and DAX calculations.
• Improve usability, performance, and clarity of dashboards.
• Implement refinements based on stakeholder feedback and evolving business requirements.
Back-End Support (SQL/Data Validation)
• Use SQL to validate data, investigate discrepancies, and reconcile issues.
• Partner with data engineering or development teams for complex upstream fixes.
Business Engagement & Stakeholder Communication
• Serve as a key liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders.
• Respond to inquiries from Sales and Sales Operations regarding metrics, reporting logic, or discrepancies.
• Translate business questions and needs into actionable reporting improvements.
• Proactively communicate updates, insights, and opportunities for optimization.
• Build trusted relationships and ensure open, clear communication with stakeholders across the organization.
Documentation & Governance
• Maintain data dictionaries, SOPs, and knowledge-base documentation.
• Support role-level security and workspace organization within Power BI.
• Promote best practices in reporting governance and data transparency.
Qualifications:
Required
• 4–7 years of experience in BI or data analytics roles.
• Strong Power BI experience (report development, DAX, data modeling).
• Solid SQL skills for validation and troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting internal stakeholders and translating business needs into technical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with cross-functional partners.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
Preferred
• Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric or Azure data platforms.
• Experience supporting sales analytics environments.
• Power BI certification (PL-300) a plus.
The expected pay range for this role is $83,000 - $108,000. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity, union status (where applicable) and alignment with market data.
