Job Description:
The Data & Analytics Support Analyst is a key member of our team, responsible for supporting a mission-critical Power BI reporting application environment. This client-facing role ensures smooth operations by troubleshooting issues, managing bug fixes and enhancements, and analyzing usage trends to optimize performance. Acting as a bridge between business stakeholders and development teams, the analyst ensures solutions meet requirements and deliver value.
Key Responsibilities
-Primary ownership: act as the center‑point contact; ramp quickly to SME for Quota Management project within Enterprise Information Management Data & Analytics team.
-Front‑end (Power BI): build/redesign reports and models; optimize DAX, visuals, and load times.
-Back‑end (Data/SQL): validate/troubleshoot with SQL; drive upstream fixes with ETL/data engineering.
-Internal client engagement: clear, structured communication with Sales/Sales Ops and internal teams; set expectations and provide status.
-Proactive analytics: analyze usage/business trends; recommend KPI refinements, visualizations, simplifications, provide actional business insights.
-Data integrity & governance: enforce RLS/OLS, security groups, active directories, apply classifications to content to protect/govern it, maintain workspace standards; develop and own data dictionaries.
-Process & enablement: document and maintain step-by-step SOPs, knowledge-base articles, FAQs, troubleshooting guides; reduce repeat incidents.
-Secondary work: support additional projects when bandwidth permits; prioritize Quota Management.
Qualifications
Technical
-Strong Power BI (report development, DAX, modeling, performance tuning).
-Solid SQL for validation and troubleshooting; familiarity with ETL/integration and governance.
-Experience with RLS/OLS, sensitivity labels, and workspace management.
-Exposure to Microsoft Fabric back‑end (Data Pipelines, Lakehouse/Warehouse, OneLake) and Azure Data Factory/Synapse; able to validate source‑to‑model flows, troubleshoot refresh/pipeline failures, and drive upstream fixes with engineering.
Soft Skills
-Clear, concise communication with internal stakeholders (Sales/Sales Ops, data/engineering): status, risks, decisions; translates business needs into actionable technical changes; writes lean docs/KB.
-Timeliness & transparency: meets SLAs, provides early escalation on blockers, and publishes post‑incident reviews/release notes.
-Collaboration & expectation‑setting: partners with business and internal teams; facilitates backlog grooming/prioritization sets clear completion criteria.
-Structured troubleshooting & root‑cause analysis: hypothesis‑driven, evidence‑based; validates fixes and closes the loop with users.
-Ownership mindset: prioritizes the primary Quota Management project; protects focus while coordinating handoffs for secondary items. Continuously seeks opportunities to enhance visualizations, refine metrics, streamline processes, and drive better business outcomes
-Detail oriented with a commitment to data accuracy and quality.
Experience
-4–7 years delivering production BI for internal stakeholders; primary owner/SME of a single program (ideally sales BI).
-Power BI: built/refactored reports and semantic models; tuned DAX and model design to improve speed and reliability.
-SQL: investigated data quality issues; reconciled to sources; pushed upstream fixes with engineering/contractors.
-Partnered on ETL/governance across Fabric/ADF/Synapse; diagnosed refresh/pipeline failures and resolved root causes.
-Internal client engagement: clear, timely, transparent status; translated business questions into metrics and report changes.
-Implemented RLS/OLS, sensitivity labels, and workspace hygiene; maintained data dictionary/SOP/KB to cut repeat tickets.
-Managed incident/enhancement backlog in Azure DevOps; met SLAs; documented post‑incident reviews and release notes.
Preferred
-Hands‑on with Microsoft Fabric (OneLake, Lakehouse/Warehouse, Data Pipelines) and CI/CD in Azure DevOps.
-Power BI certification (e.g., PL‑300) or equivalent demonstrable expertise.
-Background in distribution, manufacturing, retail.
-Experience with sales teams and associate KPIs and metrics.
The expected pay range for this role is $83,000 - $108,000. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity, union status (where applicable) and alignment with market data.
