As the Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Payments Controls Organization, you will play a pivotal role in building and maintaining robust, user-centric platforms and dashboards. Leveraging your expertise in REACT and PL/SQL, you will drive the integration of complex datasets, implement advanced UI features, and ensure high standards of performance, security and data integrity. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Product Owners, and Engineering, to deliver intuitive, scalable, and secure solutions. Your work will directly support the identification and remediation of control gaps, risk issues, and business opportunities, leveraging the latest in cloud, data analytics, and visualization technologies.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and develop modular, reusable and high-performance user interfaces using REACT.
- Integrate RESTful APIs, Java-based middleware and third-party services with REACT front-end applications.
- Implement state management solutions (e.g., Redux, Context API) for efficient data flow in REACT applications.
- Design, model and optimize relational databases using PL/SQL and SQL (Oracle, MS SQL Server), ensuring data integrity and performance.
- Work with complex, multi-level datasets and establish robust data relationships.
- Apply strong analytical and diagnostic skills to resolve undefined or complex technical issues.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, aligning solutions with business objectives.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, collaboration and project management skills in a fast-paced, agile environment.
- Maintain a strong commercial mindset, leveraging data and technology to drive business outcomes.
- Conduct thematic and trend analysis to inform business and technology strategies.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering and/or business intelligence development.
- 7+ years of hands-on development expertise in REACT.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience with PL/SQL and SQL (Oracle or MS SQL Server), including logical and physical data modeling and normalization.
- Strong understanding of front-end technologies (JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3) and database design principles.
- Experience with Java-based backend development and integration.
- Proficiency in DevOps practices, CI/CD automation and cloud deployment (e.g., AWS).
- Experience with web development technologies (HTML, CSS, JSON) and integrating BI solutions with web applications.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, microservices architecture and cloud platforms.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience in data analytics, machine learning integration and advanced reporting solutions.
- Proficiency with version control and CI/CD tools (e.g., Git, Jenkins).
- Technology risk and control experience or certifications.
- Experience with web-based application development (.NET, Visual Basic, Java).
- Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Oracle PL/SQL Developer, React.js) are a p lus.
