Data Analytics Intern

This is a full time, remote Summer Internship that can be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.
Calix is looking for a Summer intern to join our Talent and Culture (HR) Team. In this role, you will be part of a unique and award-winning internship program within the company. The program provides the opportunity to learn new skills through training and on the job learning.
We are looking for a Data Analytics Intern who will help us analyze and improve our candidate and employee engagement and retention. You will collaborate with the Director of Workforce Systems and Analytics and the Lead Workforce Analyst to collect, clean, and visualize candidate and employee data, and generate insights and recommendations.

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Assist in data collection and validation from various sources, such as surveys, HRIS system, and discussions with key leaders, stakeholders, and SMEs.
• Perform data cleaning, transformation, and analysis using Excel.
• Create presentations and reports with actionable recommendations.
• Identify trends, patterns, and outliers in candidate and employee data.
• Communicate findings and suggestions to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a degree in Data Science, Statistics, Economics, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Proficient in Excel.
• Knowledge of basic statistical concepts and methods, such as descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, and hypothesis testing.
• Experience with data visualization tools a plus.
• Interest and curiosity in employee data and human resources.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote setting.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work for the complete summer break (May - August or June - September).

Compensation will vary based on geographical location (see below) within the United States. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's location of residence and multiple factors, including job-related skills, experience, and education.

There are different ranges applied to specific locations. The average base pay range (or OTE range for sales) in the U.S. for the position is listed below.

San Francisco Bay Area Only:

21.85 - 28.75 USD Hourly

National Major Cities plus, CA, CO, NY Metro area:

19.00 - 25.00 USD Hourly

Regional plus NY:

17.10 - 22.50 USD Hourly
