The Senior Analytics Engineer will focus on project and process management guiding not only the team, but business stakeholders to extensible solutions that will generate value for the business. They will lead end to end projects, prioritize tasks, proactively deliver actionable insights and act as an ambassador for the group when working with cross functional teams.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Build reports using tools such as Power BI for analytical purposes that go above and beyond requested requirements
Understand how to effectively tune queries and create complex data sources
Has a deep understanding and skillset needed to implement data integration and transformation
Provides support and training to business stakeholders on reporting and visualization, acts as a mentor to the team
Operates with an investigative mindset to identify, analyze and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
Understands how to source data from application databases and uses ETL tools to make available for data presentation
Troubleshoots and pinpoints root causes for discrepancies to work towards data accuracy and consistency, escalates issues when necessary
Assists with ad-hoc data requests for business stakeholders and can translate requests into actionable tasks.
Clearly and concisely communicates complex topics, tools or concepts to stakeholders with limited visibility or experience on the topic.
Independently leads multi-resource projects with no oversight. Delegates effectively and provides critical feedback to both collaborators and stakeholders using a mix of business knowledge and technical expertise.
Exercises strong work ethic, accountability, initiative, and a strategic mindset
5+ Years Experience in a Modern Data Team Role
Proven ability to leverage PowerBI, BigQuery, GCP to generate compelling visualizations and deliver data to stakeholders.
Ability to Create complex ETL pipelines
Proven analytical & problem-solving skills
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Minimum Required Education: BS in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related technical field
Minimum Required Experience:
5 – 6 years of experience as a data analyst or comparable Business Intelligence role
Proficient with Cloud offerings primarily with GCP (Azure or AWS is acceptable)
Desirable Education/Experience:
1-3 years of logistics or transportation experience
