The Data Analytics Consultant serves as a strategic partner to business leaders, delivering advanced data-driven insights that support decision-making and improve operational performance. In this role, you will analyze complex datasets, build predictive models, and create dashboards and visualizations that translate data into clear, actionable recommendations. You will also contribute to data architecture and governance initiatives, ensuring data quality, integrity, and effective integration across systems.
This position requires strong technical skills in SQL, Python, R, and modern BI tools, along with the ability to communicate analytical findings to both technical and non-technical audiences. You will collaborate across teams, help guide best practices in analytics, and support enterprise initiatives that enhance business strategy and outcomes.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Data Analysis & Insight Development
  • Collect, process, and analyze large datasets to identify trends, patterns, and actionable insights.

  • Review data for accuracy, completeness, and reasonableness, performing root cause analysis on anomalies.

  • Create predictive models, dashboards, and data visualizations to support strategic decisions.

  • Responds to and fulfills adhoc data requests.

Data Architecture & Management
  • Design and manage databases, data maps, and data models to support efficient analytical workflows.

  • Assist with data integration, data migration, and data warehousing initiatives across the organization.

  • Ensure data integrity by developing controls, validation processes, and quality checks.

Business & Strategy Consulting
  • Partner with business leaders to identify opportunities for analytics driven improvements and define KPIs.

  • Provide recommendations to improve data processes, business workflows, and reporting accuracy.

  • Translate analytical findings into business friendly insights for technical and nontechnical audiences.

Cross Functional Collaboration
  • Guide teams through data management best practices and effective use of analytics tools.

  • Works independently, receiving minimal guidance; acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience by providing instruction, guidance, and advice.

  • May actively partner with other analytical teams across the organization and/or participate in special projects.

Training & Enablement
  • Train staff on data analysis techniques, BI tools, data governance, and reporting methods.

  • Data Governance & Compliance

  • Support data governance efforts, ensuring proper handling, classification, and storage of data.

  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to data privacy standards throughout analysis processes.

Reporting Relationship Director or above.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:
Domain Knowledge
  • Solid knowledge of core functions especially Claims of an insurance company and general insurance.

Technical Skills
  • Strong SQL and data manipulation capabilities.

  • Strong Experience with Python and R, plus familiarity with cloud based analytics technologies.

  • Proficiency with analytics and visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Looker, ThoughtSpot, or similar.

  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other business-related software.

  • Solid Knowledge of Google C loud platform.

  • Knowledge of other cloud platforms like Azure, AWS, Snowflake, Oracle Analytics, is an added advantage.

  • Familiarity with machine learning, statistical modeling, and modern analytics frameworks.

Analytical & Consulting Skills
  • Ability to assess data processes, uncover issues, and design effective improvements.

  • Solid analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills to effectively resolve complex situations and issues.

  • Ability to solve issues with a sense of urgency; utilizes and manages the available resources to make informed decisions and achieve superior results.

  • Ability to creatively and effectively manage through ambiguous and challenging problems, leads through change and takes appropriate level of risk.

Communication & Leadership
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills tailored to diverse audiences.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively, managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science , Statistics, Analytics, Business, Computer Science, or related field.

  • A minimum of four years of related work experience.

  • Experience in data analysis, modeling, visualization, and business consulting.

I n certain jurisdictions, CNA is legally required to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation for this role. In District of Columbia , California, Colorado, Connecticut, Illinois , Maryland , Massachusetts , New York and Washington, the national base pay range for this job level is $54,000 to $103,000 annually.Salary determinations are based on various factors, including but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location.
