Position Summary:
Reporting to the Associate Director of Digital Communications and at the Desautels Faculty of Management, the Data Analyst supports the development and ongoing maintenance of analytical reports and trend analysis to respond to the needs of key stakeholders in the Faculty. This role will document digital platform needs and evaluate project opportunities. The candidate is responsible for the development and implementation of data gathering and report delivery to support the operational needs of the Faculty. The incumbent will serve as a liaison between the Marketing, Recruitment, Management, Business Systems and Masters programs to gain consensus and approvals, seek innovations to develop business understanding and insight across the faculty and produce dashboards for Salesforce, Pardot, Websites and digital campaigns.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct interviews to determine the business needs and relations across faculty stakeholders.
- Analyze requests for data and determine the best method to locate, assemble and report data to meet the needs defined by the various client groups.
- Provide solid analytical and quantitative information to support evidence-based decision-making.
- Establish and implement tracking and reporting standards for new campaigns to effectively measure performance that will guide future optimizations and decision-making.
- Regularly audit and monitor marketing automations for data quality issues and improvements.
- Perform in-depth user analysis to identify high value cohorts that are good candidates for new marketing communication and prospect journeys.
- Develop dashboards and reports for marketing, recruitment, and management to easily understand performance of ongoing campaigns and recruitment processes.
- Manage the reporting of information quality key performance indicators.
- Monitor marketing automations and report data quality issues and identify gaps in our data collection processes to ensure we collect all data needed to make marketing and recruitment decisions.
- Ensure required data is captured in a statistically reliable manner.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to identify data collection needs within Salesforce and Pardot. Provide advice and guidance to internal clients on how to structure and manipulate ready data sets to respond to given questions.
- Provide data-driven actionable insights to our marketing team to improve campaign performance and/or suggest new campaign opportunities.
- Identify the effect of different media channels and provide budget allocation recommendations.
- Developing guidelines and processes for data collection and reporting in consultation with Business Systems to ensure data compliance.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities
- Three to five (3-5) years of experience in Marketing Analysis/Performance or related field.
- Proven ability to design and run statistical reports, analyze and build narrative around results.
- Experience using Google Ads, Facebook Ads, and other ad networks.
- Experience working with structured and unstructured datasets.
- Proven experience designing and generating statistical reports and analyzing results.
- Knowledge of Salesforce, Pardot, and marketing automation concepts and CRMs.
- Experience with Google Data Studio, Google Analytics, Power BI, Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent research abilities, troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Capable of critical reflection and detail oriented.
- Excellent communicator who can share complex material in an easy to digest manner.
- Deep sector knowledge, including familiarity with world university rankings.
- Excellent consultative and collaborative skills, and tact and diplomacy with stakeholders at all levels.
- Self-motivated, agile and driven to think out-of-the-box on key initiatives.
Knowledge of French and English. McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require English communication both verbally and in writing.
