The Data Analyst, Journeyman will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of Army logistics and property management operations. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for decision-makers. The ideal candidate will have experience in data analysis, a foundational understanding of supply chain principles, and familiarity with Army logistics systems and property accountability procedures.
Responsibility
- Gather and analyze logistics data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
- Prepare and present reports, dashboards, and data visualizations to communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Track and monitor the flow of materials, equipment, and supplies from origin to final destination.
- Analyze warehousing and transportation costs, inventory levels, and delivery processes to recommend and implement cost-saving measures.
- Assist in the management, accountability, and sustainment of government-owned and government-furnished property.
- Participate in and support monthly, quarterly, and cyclic inventories in accordance with Government property accountability procedures.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and improve logistics and property management processes.
- Support initiatives for data integrity, normalization, and quality assurance.
- Utilize Army logistics and property management databases such as the Enterprise Logistics Management System (ELMS, formerly DPAS), Army Enterprise Systems Integration Program (AESIP), Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE), the Global Combat Support System – Army (GCSS-Army), Logistics Modernization Program (LMP), and WEBFLIS. Process and manage logistics and property management documentation, including DD Forms.
- Assist junior analysts in defining and analyzing problems and making recommendations.
- Collaborate with logisticians, warehouse managers, and other personnel to ensure the smooth flow of the supply chain.
Requirements
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 2-4 years of experience as a data analyst or in a related field.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and software, including Microsoft Excel, and experience with data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau.
- Experience with SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 Applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, Forms, Teams, Planner)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Collaborative and team oriented
Desired:
- Prior experience in Army logistics or as a military logistician.
- Familiarity with Army property management systems and procedures.
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices.
- Experience with large-scale databases and data warehousing.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must have an active security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location
