Job Summary
The Business Analyst – Data & Reporting will act as a bridge between business teams and technical functions, ensuring that data-driven insights and executive dashboards accurately reflect key business performance. The role involves collaborating with Underwriting, Finance, and Data Engineering teams to gather, document, and validate requirements for Power BI dashboards and reports, supporting strategic decision-making.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Collaborate with Underwriting, Finance, and Data Engineering teams to gather, document, and validate business requirements for dashboards and reports.
- Translate business needs into clear reporting and visualization requirements for development in Power BI.
- Partner with Data Engineers to ensure that data from Databricks is properly structured, cleansed, and optimized for reporting.
- Develop and maintain process maps, data flow diagrams, and user stories to support reporting solution delivery.
- Ensure dashboards are designed for executive usability, with focus on accuracy, performance, and storytelling.
- Support data validation and testing to ensure alignment between technical outputs and business expectations.
- Facilitate stakeholder workshops to define KPIs and prioritize reporting requirements.
- Contribute to the development of a data governance framework ensuring consistency and data integrity.
- Provide ad hoc analysis and insights using Power BI and other analytics tools.
- Drive adoption of BI solutions through training, documentation, and stakeholder engagement.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Analytics, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 3–6 years of experience as a Business Analyst in a data, BI, or analytics
- Strong expertise in Power BI (data modeling, DAX, visualization, storytelling).
- Familiarity with Databricks and cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- Understanding of insurance or financial services business processes (Underwriting, Finance).
- Proven ability to communicate and collaborate with executive stakeholders, simplifying complex data into actionable insights.
- Experience in requirements gathering, process documentation, and stakeholder facilitation.
- Experience working in Agile delivery frameworks (Jira/Confluence a plus).
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English.

- Hands-on experience with Power BI dashboard development, including DAX and data model optimization.
- Understanding of Databricks data structures, query optimization, and data cleansing.
- Experience translating business KPIs into measurable reporting metrics.
- Familiarity with data governance and data validation
