Role Summary and Purpose
Research and analyse data for contingency team to support underwriting capabilities on a risk by risk and portfolio basis.
Develop management information (MI) to provide visibility of the contingency underwriting account and provide insight to the underwriters to improve profitability of the portfolio.
Complete project work to provide underwriters with tools to more accurately and more quickly price risks.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Perform important data research function to support team decision making.
Build functional databases and underwriter interface to allow service driven, consistent underwriting across the team.
Liaise with actuarial team to develop underwriting models for key sub-classes.
Ensure data is maintained and updated.
Help build a market leading team based on quality of underwriting and high service levels.
Role Requirements & Skills
Skills / Competencies
Excellent data mining and research capabilities across of wide range of topics
Competent with Power BI
Strong knowledge of database structures and front-end user interfaces for interrogation
Actuarial training or competency would be important. Accuracy and eye for detail
Strong understanding of excel and other similar tools.
Good personality and the ability to communicate easily with people
Likes to be challenged
